- With Arsenal already having made the first moves in the transfer window, our technical director Edu has outlined our recruitment strategy this summer.
Brazil youth international forward Marquinhos was the first to arrive in June. The 19 year old has joined from Sao Paulo, and will seen as very much one for the future.
More recently we completed the signing of Portugal under-21 international midfielder Fabio Vieira. The 22 year old was an integral player at Porto, and was named Player of the Tournament at the recent European Under-21 Championships in Hungary and Slovenia.
In addition, our Hale End graduate Eddie Nketiah (23) has recently signed a new long-term contract with the club, after scoring 10 times last season.

Easy to say that, I guess the excitment get to all arsenal fans in the moment ,but we must not be carried away knowing that all top challengers are strengthing with world quality players and they ready to solidify their status, so if we want really to challenge we need to spend more and hoping for luck....
@@brightdz2403 Yes but thats the whole point though? Why should rivals strengthen and We just relatively sit back and allow them to dominate Us 3-0 in embarassing Derby games? Having outspent Liverpool for more than 2 seasons now, money is not the issue. Less talk, less 'hope' and moaning at Referees - more Goals, more ambition , more Good signings, more Managerial Responsibilty, more action. Or , take the L once again. And after this spending spree, I think even the Kroenkes will be tired of taking any more Europa Ls under this manager of Ours.

He’s crucial to us, look at who he’s brought in perhaps tavares and sambi aside everything has been a huge success and those two are young and more than worth the gamble of developing them!

Interesting fact is that it took Arsenal a LONG time to sign Edu as a player due to work permit issues. He had a nice bit of success as a player though! Worth it in the end

Loved Edu when i was growing up watching him play with Henry and Bergkamp, I hope Edu can be like what David Dein was for Arsenal back in the day. This is what Man Utd need, someone with passion who has a plan to help the team and know what there doing

I think Edu and Arteta are doing fantastic jobs. The work they have done so far has been incredible. They inherited an absolute mess of a club with ageing, overpaid, unbalanced squad. They also had to receive plenty of criticism from us fans who couldn’t quite see the vision they have for the club. I really hope we all can get behind them and give them all the support they deserve because they are setting up a foundation that will be successful for years to come.
Some fans cant anderstand this they think buy this and that so we will win the Premier league next season look at man united they spent almost as much as city but the wrong players and no strategy anyway well said mate 👍

Ha well atleast most of them, took him a couple of window to get things right but we seem to be moving well atm. Hopefully soon we can sell our players better as well

It literally could be as basic as wanting a left footed winger which Gnabry isnt but theres no denying the quality. Like if its down to just quality then you go for Gnabry but they will have wanted a specific type of player of which Raphinha fits

Let me take a moment to say, that is a slick shirt Edu is wearing. Just as slick as he's been for our club. I believe in Edu and Arteta. They've been shrewd with purchases and have reconnected the fans to the club. Credit also has to go to Josh Kroenke for taking the reigns at Arsenal and delivering on his promises. Let's keep this motion of spending on quality players moving. Change takes time, we've been patient and last season was evident we're improving but we need to keep investing in the team.

When we we're complaining that the board doesn't talk to the fans, they definitely heard us. This is great.
Good luck to Mr Edu & Arteta on the transfer window, wish you bring all the players you are targeting this transfer window.
Edu and Mikel are very strategic in their recruitment and you can tell from when they decided not to rush into signings in January. They bought well last summer and looks like they are going to do the same this summer. I can see the progression, it's not going to be instant like we have seen but it's gonna take time but it will be a solid structure!
the only hassle being the price set by the other clubs.

Very happy that we have a strong core of English internationals coming through. Eddie, Saka, Smith-Rowe, Ben White, Ramsdale. Probably the most exciting youngsters in a long time for us.

We have gone from having Sokratis and Mustafi as first choice CBs to having Saliba, White and Gabriel as 3 options. From Iwobi and Walcott on the wings to Martinelli, Saka and Smith Rowe. From lazy Ozil to captain material Odegaard. We've got a great new goalkeeper, a top shelf CM, amazing full backs on both sides and a host of incoming players ready to propel us forward. Most importantly, Arteta and Edu have dramatically changed the culture of the club for the better. I see progression; a light at the end of the tunnel. I look forward to this season with great interest.

Was an incredible player with some truly brilliant moments but did not have the right attitude especially in a young squad where he was supposed to be a leader.
