Oh, imagine using a displacement map on the blood to make it look like the blood is falling on the debris, which has different heights. I also love the new torch things in the background that actually have a flame in them. I feel like the spikes in Adrian's second scene could've been better corrected. OOOOOHHHH, DUDE! CAN WE GET THAT "FATALITY" THING AS AN AE TEMPLATE?!?!

Personally I tend to use the Mesh Warp effect for bulging a head or body out before it explodes. I find it lets you decide a bit more how much bulge there is in different areas, so more fleshy bits expand out bigger than bonier bits.
