When do right, no can defense.
The amazing thing that I've found about learning Kali is the extent to which it has improved and informed my Kickboxing. Rather than leaning out and looking for pull counters, boxing behind the jab and circling - learning Panantukan has grown my confidence at moving through rather than around a sparring partner, which in turn allows me to use my most useful martial tools - my right overhand, my rear leg teep kick and my offensive wrestling (single/double leg). As a Martial Artist, Kali is such a journey, as regardless of your background or craft, it has something to offer you and will hone your skills in ways that prior you wouldn't have considered attempting or implementing.
Some comments are saying it won’t work because you may not see a straight punch. Archie is only demonstrating one type for time. Archie is a former boxing champ. He is a Kali Guro. The dude can fight.
Kali literally translated is to dig or functure.very lethal art
This was a great demonstration. I like the idea of speeding it up.
You literally have seconds to pull this technique off before you get punched in the face. Taking the inside is sketchy especially if he’s blitzing you moving forward throwing a bunch of punches you will not pull this technique off actively. It’s much easier and faster to just perry to the outside and then strike right up the middle to the eyes with your left hand. fight over! It’s an overwhelming pain when your eyes get poked That’s all your opponent can and will think about setting you up for whatever you want to do next
Agree, most of my Ilustrisimo family would say a real street fight last a maximum of 30 seconds. But the moves shown above do work.
Amen.

The defense against the hook looks particularly dangerous when compared to other options, e.g. simultaneous defense and counter in 1 single beat.
Muito bom e fácil de compreensão 🤜🏻🤛🏻
Nice presentation. Much appreciated.
After the right hook he seems open for a short straight left?
How use that moves in mma fighter ?
If you think this does not work, it is because you dont understand it , so you can't do it. So for you it will not work. This is some good Kali.....But if you watch this and try to do it you wont get it unless you allready know.
I´m not sure about this. No fighter is gonna hang his hand like that suspended in the air so that you can do your estrella ninja.
@Co M. Oh, ok. My bad!
The outside entry is fine, but I am not too fond of the inside one that involves blocking with the back hand while turning the body towards the punch. Using the back hand is too slow and turning the body in the way it's shown literally leaves your entire back side exposed.
That's how I feel too.
My daughter would like to study , where can we find you ?
I know that this is a year ago but why didn't someone correct the spelling of panantukan? it was supposed to be panuntukan (fighting with bare hands/ meaning no weapons/knife's etc.) from the root word suntuk which means to punch. I think this guys read some old master's document and one master which read it as panantukan ( pronounces the nun as nan in english and not noon) and it stuck.
ive learned most my fighting techniques and self defense inspired by animals. wild animals with primal movements. studying their movements and how to apply the proper move with instincts. forget every move ypu learned. 99% of the time if you sh*t your pants and play dead when your attacked will deture your attacker. Your welcome!!
is that useful in MMA?
No, neither for boxing nor for mma, a good amateur throws the right hand and follows it with a blow, a left hook to the face or to the body or whatever, it will never end with the right hand loose in that position, pick up his right hand very quickly after throwing it and / or it is in motion or a combination of punches will follow. With that the same for someone on the street who has not fought it can work but for no trained person it would work, that is why you will not see it in boxing or in mma.
It doesn't work against anyone with at least basic knowledge of boxing or anything related. It should work wonders against untrained aggressive drunks etc
@@joshforeman1723 meaning to say eskrimate or kali drills is not effective to professional boxer or mma fighter ..Yes or no?
@@raymondsoriano1008 bare hand drills definitely not. Another very different thing would be the eskrima / kali drills with sticks, knives or other similar or derivative objects, but by bare hand. There are different reasons why they do not work but now I do not want to lengthen but keep in mind that the best hands are from Western boxing. Checked and proven.
MMA is a sport .that's like saying does MMA work on the street
psngsmot is the original name not panantukan
If the punch is straight, I do not see the interest of maintaining your body inside the axis of your opponent.
On the opposite, apart of if you are very fast, put yourself completely outside of his action, outside his axis : that is definitively safer.
Of course, if you are confronted with a hook, blocking and striking from the inside will be more protective and efficient.
Thats an effective move if youre fast, in boxing its what you call a split counter, manny pacquiao uses it a lot
@@triskelionkilla7255 Thanks for your comment.
Manny Pacquiao : wooah, what a great reference !
Best regards.
@@shivamurti6481 the first strike in his illustration is the split counter
@@triskelionkilla7255 Ok, Thanks.
Still, the strategy that I favour comes from observations of basic Ninjutsu (and a wonderful counter originally from Kalarippayatt). You put yourself completely outside the axis of the attack of your opponent, as, at the same time you advance and block with the opposite arm of the one used by your opponent (Left arm counters right arm, right arm counters left arm).
Your blocking arm can even finish with a strike toward the face of the bad guy (lucky if you can strike his throat) in the same movement, or you can use your other arm (fist) to smash the temple of your opponent.
My appreciation is that this technique makes that at no moment you risk to be exposed to a blow.
For me, it is safer, simpler since it does not require a lot of training, and can end with a destructive blow thrown to your opponent.
Of course it might be less efficient if your opponent send you a hook.
However, in that case, you can easily destabilise him by pushing him aside, since you stay completely from outside the axis of his strike.
@@shivamurti6481 cool, martial arts and training is such a blessing, it balances mi from all the stress in life, id go insane.
