The Gargoyle story stuck with me ever since I first saw it when I was about 12 or 13. I wasn't used to having a more emotional story in a horror anthology like that and I genuinely felt bad for him but also kinda traumatised seeing her turn into the (pretty darn cool) creature. And the kids too.

My EXACT thoughts. That story stayed with me more as well, probably b/c that gargoyle monster reminded me of a big Gremlin which that movie traumatized me as a kid lol

I borrowed this from our local video store when I was a kid and it scared the hell out of me for years. More specifically the cat crawling down then up out of a guy's stomach and throat. That's still an effective sequence. As well as when the Mummy sliced open the person's back to shove the flowers in there. That was terrifying for my young mind. It gives me the willies a little but I suspect that's past experience coming back.

I mostly remember William Hickey from the episode of Tales from the Crypt where he switches his body out piece by piece with a young guy so he can get with a girl and ends up going broke and she marries the guy he switched bodies with because he ended up with all of his money.
Fun fact, that episode was directed by Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Yes! Great episode.. hilarious at the same time, seeing Rick Rossovich (Matt from The Terminator) speaking but with Hickey's voice.

That Gargoyle one was heartbreaking, honestly. He didn't do anything wrong, and I felt for the characters. At least in some of the other anthology horror stuff - the character getting their comeuppance is like a terrible person who had it coming...

Check out William Hickey's brilliant performance in John Huston's "Prizzi's Honor", a hugely popular 80s flick (Angelica Huston's Oscar, I believe), now pretty much - unfortunately - forgotten: also with Kathleen Turner and Jack Nicholson. There's the emblematic Hickey performance.

I remember my first anthology film was called 'Asylum'. In that film you start the wrap-around story with officials visiting an insane asylum, where the doctor who greets them, the doctor in charge of the asylum, takes them to see several patients, and the reason for each commitment is then done as a flashback. In the end there is a great stinger, which makes the wraparound story as good as some of the actual stories, which is what a wraparound story should be.

This was one of the 90s horror anthology movies that I always would see on cable back in the day along with Tales from the Hood and Body Bags. It will always be pure nostalgia for me as well as the others I mentioned. I wish we'd gotten a sequel/franchise out of this feature or even just more quality horror anthologies from that time. There are some good modern day horror anthologies but very few if any can compare to the good old days of the 80s/90s anthology efforts of the sub genre. But as I've said before, you can apply that same statement to the entire horror genre itself and I think it would be as fitting.

I love anthology horror film's and show's. My favorite show's are tales from the crypt, tales from the darkside, outer limit's, monster's, creepshow, night gallery, master's of horror and the twilight zone. My favorite film's are creepshow, creepshow 2, two evil eye's, tales from the hood, tales from the darkside: the movie, tales from the crypt and vault of horror. I also thought body bag's, cat's eye, ABC's of death, XX, all hallow's eve, holiday's, tales of halloween, southbound and asylum were pretty good or atleast pretty decent. There's still a few show's and film's I haven't seen and want to watch like dr. terror's house of horror's, from beyond the grave, torture garden, nightmare's, nightmare cinema, chillerama, the theatre bizarre, amazing stories, VHS, fear itself, nightmare's and dreamscapes and a few other's.

I bought the Scream Factory release last year and it looks fantastic, it’s a damn shame that a sequel fell through cause it had potential as a film franchise like what happened with Tales From The Crypt, maybe someday someone would resurrect this IP and have talented horror writers to show us unique stories that venture in horror comedy or straight horror.

Lovers Vow, I have thought long and hard about in so many ideas and possible history for Carola. I'm sure most of us have figured that Carola is probably centuries old and has been cursed to be a Gargoyle. She obviously is able to break from her stone form after certain time periods and must find someone to willingly agree to keep the secret of seeing her as a gargoyle. Now the questions come, after taking the vow, was it also a requirement for Peyton to fall in love with her??? If they didn't meet and fall in love, would she remain human or would she have to become stone again and wait however long and find a different person to take the vow and fall in love with her 😂😂😂😂 So Many questions, which unfortunately will probably never get put on film. Anyone else have any theories or has wondered about Carola's history??? Please post

I have those same exact questions, basically..and I don't know. It'd be an interesting thing to learn about. I took her final scene as her one and only chance to become human. She took her offspring with her to stone form and idk, I don't see their children ever having a chance to become human. But 🤷🏻‍♂️.. idk. Interesting thoughts to consider.

I’m sorry, not trying to incorrect you, but you got the title wrong. It’s called CreepShow 3.
By the way, I’m just kidding, but I like to call this movie CreepShow 3

Always preferred this to Creepshow. It was scarier and less silly.
