      It's a pretty good flying Micro Warbird once you get the CG and soften the movement on the Elevator.
      I just now got back from flying it with the TX16S!
      So smooth and well behaved.
      I'll try and post the Flight Video Sunday.
      It's flying like a Warbird now ;-)
      I'll try to get my Setup and OpenTX Model Files published on our Facebook Page as soon as I can.
      You'll have a lot of fun with it, as I sure did this morning.
      See you in the Air!

    Looks like it flies like my Xk- P40. Fun going fast but like a real WWII warbird it can keep you busy on the sticks going slow, if not kill ya outright. It's a slick wing.
    Maybe a future Laserbee brushless conversion? Mine is so much quieter without the gear drive.
    Happy flying!

    • @GroundControlRC
      @GroundControlRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, this one is pretty tail heavy.
      After 5g of nose weight it flew pretty well but that is a lot of nose weight for such a small plane.
      No conversion for this one.
      I hope Eachine comes out with some more 500mm-600mm warbirds ;-)

      @@GroundControlRC Mine originally required 2G in the tail, but after the conversion I was able to remove it.
      I like the 400mm birds but only due to my space limits. Otherwise my plane would have 4-5 foot wingspans. ;-)

    • @GroundControlRC
      @GroundControlRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Doggeslife Hehehe...yes...and if I had a nice wide open grassy area to land on my planes would get bigger also ;-)
      Well, and a lager vehicle to transport the planes, maybe a school bus with all the seats removed.
      Yeah, I could not believe it but I ended up putting 5g of nose weight on this plane and now it flies great.
      I don't how you can make such a small plane so tail heavy but they managed it.

      Hi Carl!
      Yes, I've lost orientation on a few of my planes, especially the Micro Planes.
      I can usually get it sorted out as long as I don't lose it in the Sun ;-)
      I've crashed (2) Planes doing that.

      I think this one flies as well as the Mini P51D once you get it setup and trimmed.
      I put this one through a grueling durability test and it passed with flying colors ;-)
      I love the landing gear on this one as well.
      Much better landing gear than any of the other Micro Warbirds I've flown.
      It's so much fun to be able to make nice landings and not have it flip over ;-)

    At the end are you doing those turns mostly with the rudder?

    • @GroundControlRC
      @GroundControlRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      If I remember correctly, since it's been a while since I've flown this one, it did require quite a bit of Rudder to make nice coordinated turns.
      Some of them can make nice coordinated turns just using the Aileron and Elevator and some can't.
      I think it just depends on the airframe design.

    Was the 500mm p47 before conversion better than the p40 400 mm ? And if you could only buy 1 which one ?

    • @GroundControlRC
      @GroundControlRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Ian!
      The P47 was under-powered but would make a good beginner plane.
      The P40 has a bit more power, not quite as stable as the P47, but a good beginner plane.
      Both planes are pretty tail heavy right out of the box and need some nose ballast weight to get them flying well.
      I tend to go for stability over power for beginner planes.
      I also like the larger airframe and wingspan of the P47 and that makes it more stable.
      I won't say which one you should buy as everyone has their own preferences but those are the Pros and Cons of these Planes in my book ;-)

    I have the spitfire and have the elevator trimmed neutral and advanced mode is squirrelly at best. I will also try a penny to see if that helps. Thanks for the tip.

    • @GroundControlRC
      @GroundControlRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jon!
      Yes, many of these Micro Planes are a bit tail heavy.
      I adjusted the linkage on the elevator last night as well to make the elevator less twitchy.
      I'll be taking it out again this morning with the TX16S.
      Hopefully I won't break any more props ;-)

      I put a penny under the front access hatch and it made a big difference at least in beginner and intermediate mode. Maybe 2 pennies or nickel will help in advanced mode.. I have the Rage RC version of the spitfire which is in a different livery than the eachine version. One nice feature i have discovered is when the flight battery is low the transmitter will beep before the motor cuts off. This is not in the manual and to the best of my knowledge no one whom has made a video has mentioned this.

    • @GroundControlRC
      @GroundControlRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jonmeyers523 Hi Jon!
      I have a nickel (5g) of nose weight on this plane during this flight and it flies excellent in all modes with that amount of nose weight.
      This one was very tail heavy.
      That low battery beep is a nice feature.
      I don't remember seeing that in the manual for this one either but I probably have not pulled the voltage down enough to test.

      @GroundControlRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Emmett!
      Yes, it's a tiny plane so it's hard to see sometimes.
      It's easier to see if you make the video full screen rather than the small default video window.
      There's not much more I can do when flying tiny planes like this especially with the color of the plane, the background of the terrain, and the cloudy skies ;-)

  • @Jack-gy7cs
    @Jack-gy7cs 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Too bad you couldn't just eliminate weight from the tail rather than adding weight to the nose especially on such a light plane.

    • @GroundControlRC
      @GroundControlRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jack!
      That would have been ideal.
      I wish there was some room to move the battery around to adjust the CG but there's none at all.
      Fun little Plane though ;-)
