    ***PLEASE READ*** BEFORE APPLYING THE WATERSLIDE FOR THE MARBLE SIDE - MAKE SURE YOU EITHER SPRAY THE WHITE SPRAY PAINT WITH CLEAR GLOSS SPRAY SEALER OR APPLY A LAYER OF EPOXY FIRST - I FORGOT TO ADD THIS INTO THE TUTORIAL. IF YOU DON'T DO THIS, YOUR WATERSLIDE IMAGE WILL LOOK LIKE IT'S SEPARATED FROM THE CUP IN PLACES OR YOU'LL NOTICE YOU SEE THE MATTE TEXTURE FROM THE PAINT UNDERNEATH IT!! SORRY FOR LEAVING THIS OUT!! YOU ALWAYS WANT TO APPLY CLEAR WATERSLIDE TO A SHINY, GLOSSY SURFACE.

      Hey! I’m having trouble with my waterslide image. I seal it with clear gloss spray and I let it sit to dry about 30min before adding to water. Every time I’m ready to apply image to tumbler it either has small rips and color fades off 😩 Can you please give me any advice.
      Thank you

    I just happen to come across this video and had to watch, the cup is beautiful. I wasn’t even looking for this type of video but now I have to make one!!!! lol. I watched your whole video and you do an amazing job at explaining each step you are doing. I’ve watched A LOT of these tumbler videos and learned things from each video but I don’t think I’ve come across a video that is this explanatory without all that extra crap like kids in the background, music/too loud and having a bunch of other constant talking that has nothing to do with what you’re doing. I can actually watch your whole video from start to finish! And the fact that you typed EACH step in your description is impressive! I’ve never seen that b4. I just finished watching this video and now I’m going to start one haha love it! I’m now following you I can’t wait to watch more of your videos...😉 thank you for taking the time to show all of us how you make your things. Hello. I know this is an older video. Hoping you see the question. I’ve been binge watching your videos and love all of them. Thank you for sharing. My question is regarding polycrylic. I am going to start venturing into tumbler making. Could I essentially do all my initial layers (designs, glittering, decals) with polycrylic then just finish the cup with epoxy? If so, how many layers of epoxy would you recommend over the polycrylic? I. Thinking this may be a more budget friendly way to start making tumblers if in fact it can be done this way.

    • @FlynnSistersBoutique
      @FlynnSistersBoutique  4 ปีที่แล้ว

    How long do you normally let spray paint dry? Does your paint ever peel up?

    • @FlynnSistersBoutique
      @FlynnSistersBoutique  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      About a half hour or so? The paint doesn't really peel up. I run the tape over my clothes usually so it's not sticky enough to pull it up.

    First off, thank you so much for doing this. I can watch your tutorials alllll day :). I know you mentioned that you use alumilite epoxy, so you have any recommendations of what I can do to slow down yellowing or stop it all together. Thank you again.

    • @FlynnSistersBoutique
      @FlynnSistersBoutique  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kerrie Rosheuvel thanks for watching. I’ve been using Alumilite for a really long time and have not encountered an issue with yellowing so i have no advice there. There’s a dye you can use but I’ve never tried it.

    • @LeLoriPants
      @LeLoriPants 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Flynn Sisters Boutique do you ever have issues with the heat rating? I left mine in my car while using allumilite and the epoxy warped, but that brand I got the nicest finishes

    • @FlynnSistersBoutique
      @FlynnSistersBoutique  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      LeLoriPants no I’ve never had an issue with that either. I’ve sold over 1k cups over the years and shipped all over the country (including the south and many hotter climates) and never a complaint about it. Like not once. So I’ve never had a reason to address those issues. Idk if maybe I just got lucky or what? I do understand the advantage to other brands but the cost/efficiency is the best for us. 😊 Maybe you try using alumilite on lower layers and finish with a high heat/UV formula. So you’re still getting a good an easy finish at a great price then protecting it all with a better brand. Hope that makes sense

    • @LeLoriPants
      @LeLoriPants 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Flynn Sisters Boutique yes that makes total sense, ive actually thought about doing that but i didn’t know exactly how it would react
      That’s really good to know. My inability to get my cups super smooth has been what’s keeping my prices lower because I don’t want to charge a ton for sometime that has a few bubbles but alumilite I always had better luck with in that department

    • @FlynnSistersBoutique
      @FlynnSistersBoutique  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use the Rustoleum 2x clear gloss and Kodiak Brand paper. The cracking can come from the slide and spray becoming brittle if they sit too long to dry. From printing to application should take about 15 mins

    Is the epoxy dangerous? Is that why you have to wear the mask? I’ve never worn anything like that while working with epoxy.

      *LauraLee* yes it is. Please review your epoxy’s recommended safety data sheet. Here’s the recommended guidelines for Alumilite. It’s recommended to use an organic vapor mask when ventilation is inadequate.

      Mine was gifted to my from a Honeywell employee before the pandemic. I have not been able to source one with a stable link because they sell out so quickly. You can find one by googling: "full face organic vapor respirator"
