Notice how we say medicine has gotten better that statement should be life has gotten better , health has gotten better. Kudos to you both. Very much enjoyed your book Dr Makary. Recommend to all doctors alike

Unfortunately the advice at the end of trying to have a conversation with my doctor because maybe I know something he doesn’t is useless until I find a doctor who would actually be open to that kind of conversation. It’s a rare breed.
There needs to be some association of docs who are onto this stuff with a directory where I can find a few in my city. As it is, I’m flying blind.

I lived in New Orleans during the 80s and people from the blood banks went to churches on Sunday and explained about blood donation. They asked celibate women to step up. Lots did.

The majority of doctors could be replaced with AI as most of them just spout dogmas based on assumptions. When clients do not respond to 'treatments', they blame the client.

I know for a fact that thousands upon thousands of people have reversed their diabetes with a whole Food plant-based diet, which would be considered fairly low-fat. Also look at the work of Cauldwell Esselstyn MD who actually reversed heart disease in a group of very advanced heart patients. I’m grateful to Dr. Makary for speaking out about the dangers of processed foods. However, the plant kingdom is very healthy for humanity and saturated fat does increase LDL cholesterol which in many cases does cause atherosclerosis

I agree with most of this content, but not to the pea nut part . I believe pea nuts are not a human food and have a very short history. Building a tolerance to them is like building a tolerance to alcohol, they are both poison.

Bamba...check Kosher section of your market, (if they have one) they're, dare I say it, Israeli. And great! Peanut puffs, think cheese puffs except they're Peanut.

I keep hearing, "you must talk to your doctor about key medical decisions." That seems to me to be an OXYMORN since the great majority of allopathic doctors are CLUELESS when it comes to knowing and/or interpreting medical research/science/statistics!

Yes but remember a podcast discussion cannot provide medical advice that may pertain to your individual needs
