Ok, let me explain it again i guess :) Items are considered *broken* whenever they are 0 durability. This means that even if you have 1 durability, you can still use the item to its full potential. In different modes - OPR, Arena, WAR, Mutations you don't lose durability to your items. This means that you can go with all items on 1 durability and still play without issues. The glowing red effect shows on items when they are under certain % of durability (for example 25%). However, this doesn't mean that you need to repair the item in order to use it. And lastly, if you use repair kits, they will repair the item to 100% regardless if you do it on 0%, 1% or 20%. So using it when the item still has 20% to go is a waste of 1/5 of the repair kit.
This is why i bought 1000 of 3 different mods at 0.01 coin. I spent 30 gold for 1000 repairs. Others spend 90 per repair. We are not the same.
ONE OF US, ONE OF US, ONE OF US
This still doesnt explain why your armor is broken. It only explains how your repair your gear
