Looking through the comments, maybe I've missed something? The shooting at the time it mattered was shocking, a miss, then a shot nearly 2 feet from where it was meant to be, and worst of all, a wounded animal. Cmon, you guys, where are the ethics? Yeah, it's a great story, but poorly executed.
Growing up in Hawaii I met Kimi when I was in highschool, about 15 years ago at a fishing/dive expo. I remeber thinking how much of a role model she was for us kids. Love that she is a part of the Meateater team, an ambassador of Hawaii, and continues to be a role model in the spot light and in her community! Cheehuuu!
Kimi's appreciation for the environment and the process of melding with it really shines through in every hunt she goes on; It's really great to watch.
I shot my first aoudad this year. Everything I have cooked with the meat so far has been wonderful. Glad y’all are showing that they can be delicious like any other game meat! Great job Kimi and Cal!
If the meat-eater crew is moving through Quebec, I'd be a great translator, back that up with a decade of fine dining chef experience. I'm just sayin.. put me and @bradleone in the same room. And you're gonna see something by golly
Stephen, with more than 7 years watching this show-THIS WAS PERFECTION. You better spiff Ryan alot. That is the perfect hunting show of all time. Having watched for years lots and lots, this was what the genre is about. Ryan, after the show with Kimi, asking her to go was BRILLIANCE to the MAX. Taking a wahine fish killer to try it on dry land was just superb. I bet she's a better fish hunter too. The entire show was done to tell a story, to make the viewer FEEL something, to engage, and then to deliver---like they did! And the depiction of how it felt was communicated. BEST SHOW EVER!
18:30 Dude! Cal is like the ultimate bro/human! Like that is the PERFECT thing to say right then and there. I admire that ability to be super sharp in ALL situations at all times…
Absolutely one of the best meat eater episodes. I have watched in years. This was so well put together and the filming was incredible. A big shout out to the Shooting guide who was absolutely amazing and showed great patience with a non-shooter yet again one of the best meat eater episodes I’ve seen in years. Well done guys
Man, this video was great. Cal drives every episode he's in with ease. Having the teaching of an expert like Terry is invaluable. This is what everyone would like their first hunting experience to be like. Seeing Kimi's excitement during the entire process was wholesome. Awesome episode.
She was so jacked up on that first shot. Absolutely love it! That’s what it’s all about. Good recovery! We all been there as hunters that respect the target animal with respect and seriousness
I Love seeing Kimi on Meateater she is always so enthusiastic to learn new hunting with different species of animals and always willing to share what skills she knows with others. Hope to see more videos with her featuring!! Go Kimi
Kimi, we’ve always been a fan. You had 2 of the best teachers as you know and did excellent! Congratulations!!! My wife said she hopes little Buddy is doing well and knows he’s growing up fast. Love all y’all and God Bless
Kimi’s take on becoming comfortable in the movements was great. most people don’t really put rookies through real life scenarios they kinda get thrown into the fire. I understand that’s not always the case but I have seen it a lot first hand. Cals a great mentor terry as well.
This gave me so much to work on with my new wife who hasn’t hunted, other than our failed attempt last year that was rushed after our honeymoon. This year will involve way more practice and real-world scenarios thanks to this GREAT video! Thanks again MeatEater and Cal for sharing.
It’s pretty nice seeing you guys guide her with these hunting techniques and shooting abilities. Returning the favor in a sense when she was teaching you guys spearfishing.
Great teacher and wonderfull student. Just before the first shot breaks i see her hold her breath. Very cool that Cal brought them together. 👍🏻🍀. Greetings from Germany 👋🏻
Getting a badass former HOG (hunter of gunmen) to coach on the fundamentals of long distance shooting and Cal for hunting/stalking?! Phenomenal video and big kudos to Kimi!
this is awesome !! we know she is a badass in her craft, teaching it and living it, epic to see her learn sooo fast, and so glad yall are sharing this, becauae truly we all learn a bit as we watch .
I thought I liked hunting. Then I brought a new hunter into the woods for the first time. Now I know I love hunting. Teaching someone else to do it is so much more rewarding than doing it myself. I remember very few of the deer I've killed. I will never forget the first deer I helped someone else get. People.who.have never hunted don't fully understand what it means to be human.
Oh..... this is a no brainer, Kimi HAS to take him Spear Fishing now... him a former SEAL, water is also his element, but she is the pro in that realm. Would be a great episode. Cal, is fantastic as always, next to Janis, they are my two favorite.
What an amazing all round hunt!😀👍 From the literal start (sighting in Kimmie) to the actual kill, cook and eat. Just awesome stuff guys! Two thumbs WAY UP here.😀👍👍
Man, I spent 8 days last December hunting Aoudad in New Mexico, put a lot of miles on my boots and the only place I saw them was driving between areas on public land. I had to slam on the brakes to avoid hitting them. Glad she got one but definitely pretty jealous!
Wish you guys would address the gear and weapons used for the hunt or practice. Helps even the best of us stay open to others ways than ours. Keep at it. Love the content all the same.
Biggest aoudad i seen was hung in the forks of a old growth mesquite tree while in a friendly bass tournament at lake Brady Texas. Looked like he jumped up high after some mistletoe. It was early spring and the trees hadn't regrown there leaves
I grew up with BB guns, chasing birds & lizards. Later, small caliber hunting for squirrels & rabbits. By the time big game came along hunting live targets with a rifle was 2nd nature. Interesting to see someone starting from scratch.
I remember when I was a kid, had a chance to set a record.. and I chose kneeling position because it would last longer on a count of how uncomfortable it was that nobody wanted to do it.
For those that aren't in the know Terry Houin is a legend. A real deal navy seal. He was one of the seals that helped save captain Phillips.
This is one of the greatest videos that Meateater has put out. Show's exactly what it is like for a first time hunter. The realism is awesome!
Not bad but not best.
Riding around on S X S, 4 wheelers, trucks is never great hunting.
Appreciate the short stalk though.
I can't keep silent. I'm sorry, she's too dumb, or did I think?
@@thevoyageur2152No, it’s just not your preferred method of hunting.
You guys are having way too much fun
Looking through the comments, maybe I've missed something?

she run dat gowch to say da least lol
Kimi's appreciation for the environment and the process of melding with it really shines through in every hunt she goes on; It's really great to watch.
Now we need a 2 part episode of Kimi showing Jordan her neck of the woods and vice versa
This is a part two of a promise I'm sure. Cal and steven both went spearfishing in Hawaii with Kimi. It's an earlier season (10, ep7.)
I shot my first aoudad this year. Everything I have cooked with the meat so far has been wonderful. Glad y’all are showing that they can be delicious like any other game meat! Great job Kimi and Cal!
A masterclass in shooting and hunting practice; and a whole hunt video included.
You all, have top notch content.
Thanks for the great episode.

Interesting to watch someone so skilled in one area trying new things

I knew years ago when Meateater came out it was something different. It is, in fact, different in all the best ways.
Kimi is such a gem. A wonderful ambassador for the sport to so many people that otherwise may not be reached. Top 3 guests ever on Meateater.
Cal’s shades are awesome!
Cal and Kimi has a great friendship throughout all their videos. Great content Cal!

Terry's story is absolutely incredible!

Awesome episode.

Kimi is a beautiful human, and I am super stoked for her getting this opportunity and experience... Cal and Terry, you guys are great too... =)
We need more Terry videos he’s awesome. Cal and Kimmi always awesome to watch too
You showcase exceptional skill and precision in every hunt.
I Love seeing Kimi on Meateater she is always so enthusiastic to learn new hunting with different species of animals and always willing to share what skills she knows with others. Hope to see more videos with her featuring!! Go Kimi

PERFECT episode.
Need another new hunter video for sure.
Kimi’s take on becoming comfortable in the movements was great. most people don’t really put rookies through real life scenarios they kinda get thrown into the fire. I understand that’s not always the case but I have seen it a lot first hand. Cals a great mentor terry as well.
I love Kimi and watching her work on a skill with two bada** mentors is the best. Great episode!
I love it the master becomes the student again. I love Kimi. Been a role model to every diver on the islands since she was in highschool
Kimi and Cal crushing it
Nice hunt. Terry did well and pulled off what Steven didn't, taking a big ram.
What a phenomenal video from you guys. Absolutely awesome! Great job Kim!
This gave me so much to work on with my new wife who hasn’t hunted, other than our failed attempt last year that was rushed after our honeymoon. This year will involve way more practice and real-world scenarios thanks to this GREAT video! Thanks again MeatEater and Cal for sharing.
I love this episode, it makes me miss West Texas I left this last year and have actually been hunting in that rough area before.
Kimi is the real deal, all around woman & hunter gatherer. So enjoy seeing Kimi in the wild doing wild things, Keep up the support MeatEater..
The AV1 codec looks great, please keep using it for your footage!
Am I the only one that sees the massive crush Cal has on Kimi? ❤️❤️
How is this not viral already. It’s Cal AND Kimi
Well done episode. Now Kimi can invite Cal and terry Houin spear fishing. That would be a good "part 2" to an awesome episode.
There’s at least 2 maybe 3 videos onTH-cam of Kimi and Cal spearfishing.
I'm in
Kimi is an absolute killer and you gentle men had all the right things to teach and say what a great video loved it
Kimi should invite Terry to go Blue Water diving for the big fish. Terry should do good since he was a Navy Seal. Would he a good show.
We need more cal and kimi. Legendary stuff!
I love anything Kimi Werner! This video is awesome and loved learning what its like to be a first time hunter. Hope someday I can do this!
Kimi episodes are the best.
Getting a badass former HOG (hunter of gunmen) to coach on the fundamentals of long distance shooting and Cal for hunting/stalking?! Phenomenal video and big kudos to Kimi!
Melting into the rock! ❤...... Great job all of you!!!!! CONGRATS

Kimmi great job. Well done.
OMG! a Kimi episode! yay!
Can you please consider do a teaching video, of what was taught to her, for the rest of us? Thx
I'm used to seeing speargun in her hands this is totally new and congratulations on the awesome Hunt
Man, I spent 8 days last December hunting Aoudad in New Mexico, put a lot of miles on my boots and the only place I saw them was driving between areas on public land. I had to slam on the brakes to avoid hitting them. Glad she got one but definitely pretty jealous!
Wonderful episode. Thanks to you all.
Also, i understand if Cal has a crush.🙄
another good one - the terrain is really wild out there - plenty of animals
Wish you guys would address the gear and weapons used for the hunt or practice. Helps even the best of us stay open to others ways than ours. Keep at it. Love the content all the same.
10/10 on this one, y'all. I'm lost for words.
Love me some Kimi. This was an awesome video
Great episode. It was nice not seeing walleye today. We don't have them in my neck of the woods.
God Bless you guys.
Learned a lot, thanks guys. And, still learning
Congrats on a successful hunt! and its great to see you harvesting the meat! My wife got her first Barbary sheep this year, and it was super tasty!
Excellent. I wish to hunt and learn one day, just like this.
Cal whats the name of those green sunglasses?
Wondered the same...
Same question
Electric jjf12 military drab
Terry is the best
From sea to land another great experience.
Excellent video of course two of the finest teachers but with a student that wants to learn how could you go wrong 😊
Definitely worth the watch !
god i love kimi. what a legend
That’s freaking awesome!!!
Should have Kimi mentor Terry on spearfishing!
I'd take that
Excellent episode!
Awesome episode
Swimmy Kimi getting it done! That braised soup looks delicious. I just had breakfast, but I'm hungry for some.
It was delicious
I'm just now getting into hunting (going on my first in a few months, hopefully) and I wish I had someone like Cal going with me.
I need those glasses cal..what are they
They are awesome
Kinda looks like Electric JJF12's but in od green and black. Can't find them in that color sadly.
Biggest aoudad i seen was hung in the forks of a old growth mesquite tree while in a friendly bass tournament at lake Brady Texas. Looked like he jumped up high after some mistletoe. It was early spring and the trees hadn't regrown there leaves
Amazing episode! P.S if there are any friendly Americans who want to take a 27 year old dutchmen hunting, let me know!!!!🙃
Pretty cool video. Really enjoyed the video.
I grew up with BB guns, chasing birds & lizards. Later, small caliber hunting for squirrels & rabbits. By the time big game came along hunting live targets with a rifle was 2nd nature. Interesting to see someone starting from scratch.
Another great video.
I’m ready for Steve to come back!
Great episode. A shame they’re expensive and time-consuming to film and produce, otherwise we could have a new episode every week!
I can see Cal and Kimi duo.
Love this channel. Let's go 👊
We need more Kimi
awesome Kimi !!!!!!!
I remember when I was a kid, had a chance to set a record.. and I chose kneeling position because it would last longer on a count of how uncomfortable it was that nobody wanted to do it.
She's such a cool part of meateater
a very cool episode
Good show!
