Thanks for the tutorials. Small correction, in recon directives targeting, selecting Unit means that the recon planes will increase the detection level on already known units. When selecting Interdict, they will try to uncover unobserved or hidden units.
Once again, thank you so much for doing these! Your time and effort are hugely appreciated. I haven't watched through the whole series yet, so forgive me for asking if this has already been mentioned but will you also be doing a video on depot/supply management? Thanks!
These tutorials are fantastic, but its hilarious that literally everyone seems to have started with the Axis first, and here I am as the Soviets trying to figure out how theater boxes and railing factories works lol
They mentioned in the manual that the effective escort range is smaller than p.e. the range for interception, coz when fighter escort, they fly a zick-zack-pattern to better observate the surrounding of the escorted bombers.
very good. btw. im german and JG is Jagd Geschwader, Hunting Squadron, for "j" we say "jot" like "Jon" wit a "t" at the end the "g" is spoken like the "g" in "good"
19:02 : Only reason why Im watching the video is to know how to manage the air war and do those recon radious and you skipped trough clicking on the "Automate air war"... 35:43 Ah good. So you click on your recon mission, you put it wherever you want, then you can select how big the radious with these buttons. Good to know. Thanks.
I got a question regarding these automatic rail repair HQs. How can I find these special HQs on the map? I thought the "rail damage" map mode would highlight them, but it only highlights the "normal" rail repair units which can by controlled by the player. Does these automatic rail repair HQs exist at the start of the scenario or do I have to create these HQs by putting rail-repair-support-bataillons into them? Thanks :-)
They probably should be more recognizable. There are 4 of them. One for each army group and one in Romania. You just have to hunt for them unfortunately
@@strategygamingdojo5278 I think you missunderstood, sorry for my english ;-) .. I do not mean the rail contruction unit counters. I mean the automatic rail HQs which will deploy rail repair counters automatically. How to find these HQs?
I think I now understand ... these support units are in the "Army group HQs" only and I have to reasign them to subordinated HQs if I want to use the automatic repair, right?
@@konnirichter7299 - Yes, those secondary construction units are automatically sent out from the Army/Army Group HQs to do their work. I never reassign them and just let that part of the game play out naturally. If they are all at OKH for instance they can go out 90 Hexes from OKH
@@strategygamingdojo5278 They might be worth assigning to a corps HQ which will be used solely as a guiding HQ for the exact railway area you want those units to go to for repairs.
Basically you are right. Green and purple color in one square is popping up just in mixed doctrine´s squares where bombers or utility pre flaying with fighter escort. Purple color is for another planes as a fighters so designated for bombers and utility planes (recon, transport, etc.). Non reachable doctrine´s square by any planes has no color. Superiority (fighters doctrine) has green color inside. Simply Green - fighters , purple - another planes, no color - no planes.
bro, I can find this no where, not in the manual, nothing. What is the effect of an air base not having full ammo, support etc. Say your ammo is 50% , what does that do to the air craft at the base. It just never talks about that in the manual. The effect of air base shortfalls on air directives or maybe I am missing it.
The UI in the options settings is terrible. In one case, setting an option to ON increases player control, and in the next one, AI kicks in and decreases player control. That is awful design.
Thanks, your tutorials are great!

You are correct, sir

Yes, that will be coming soon. Thanks for watching
@@strategygamingdojo5278 Thank you!!

Excellent, as usual. You have a gift for teaching.
Great help thank you! I had such a difficult time trying to understand air.

Ja Dojo you've convinced me that a hybrid approach is the best way to go with the airwar
Excellent stuff.
Thank you for this usefull tutorial. A must !

Good stuff, very very useful!
Excellent job and thank you
Awesome series ... Thanks

très clair !
I also thought that the purple area means where bombers have no fighter escort because of the range?

Yes, sorry if that wasn't clear. Roman has it correct just above
Do you find interdiction to have the same effect as it does in WitW?In WitW the Allied interdiction has some serious negative effects on Axis forces.

Only time I can think where you will do naval strikes is maybe Odessa, Sevastopol and maybe Leningrad
The US Strategic Bombers typically operated at 20,000 to 30,000 fi.
