Thats must have been a super trip - I was lucky to have sailed on Damien 2 with Jerome Poncet and his family in 83 in Antarctica for a day - nothing like being under sail down there in that scenery is there.
@@SpitSharp HI - we were are sailing up the Penola Strait towards the Lemaire channel - the Ketch had sailed from the Falklands I believe - they were doing a marine bio and Penguin survey which our staff base helped with - We were located at was then called Faraday base on Gallindez Island, part of the Argentine Island Group Antarctica
There's obviously an armed penguin in the backseat of the car with an automatic weapon aimed at you to ensure you don't make any unsanctioned admissions.
Thanks for doing this buddy, the fact that someone who actually live in Antarctica endorses and confirms that what I said in that video was correct is awesome!!! Suck it Flat Earthers 🤣🤣😂😂😅😅
Morning Creaky - thanks for this - and your new video comments on Dubay and the Transglobe Expedition, the first Circumnavigation of the Globe via North and South Poles = There is in fact a full days celebration of that Expedition at the Royal Geographical Society on October 23 2024 in London, including lectures on the intent, the multi faceted science programs,; the showing of the Film "To the Ends of the Earth" which follows the Expedition on its 3 year route; meet the surviving team members, a drinks and dinner - all to raise money for the Trust which supports all kinds of science expeditions and works around the Globe. Although I was a very very small piece of the Transglobe Expedition jigsaw Ill be there - www.rgs.org/events/upcoming-events/rans-globe-a-tribute-to-the-transglobe-expedition
From the deepest of my heart, at times, I do envy you lucky people that had the rare opportunity to witness first hand such a natural marvel. In all honesty, I wouldn't think twice if anyone would support me financially for a similar excursion and experience, despite the fact that I hate the cold. I have had my fair share of minus 30 degrees C below 0 but I was spoiled by having been only marginally exposed to the rigidity of weather as I was in a civilised country. Not the same as the wild Antarctica but nevertheless still fascinating. Thanks for sharing your experience with us. God bless and good luck for your future.
The continuing lie about not being able to freely explore Antarctica is beyond infuriating. More than 300 people have skied to the South Pole, some solo. It is an outrage that the enormous preparation and suffering of these adventurers is dismissed by flerfs.
@@PeerAdder That is why Professor Parks frustrates me a bit. He has people in his chat doing exactly that and is, in my mind, excessively kind to them. If I had people continually questioning my mechanical skills like that, I'd go into a towering rage.
When I tell the flerfs that I have sailed my own boat to Antartica, twice, and invite them to a third trip, they go silent.

Easy enough to do plain and simple. Did you go around it or straight to it? Very nice trip to make ❤
Doubt they went around, its bigger than australia.

@@davehoward22 People go around also.
Again, thank you for sharing your exciting experiences.

Not as much of an outrage as the way they dismiss the work of every professional scientist and researcher by calling them liars to their faces.

If you could add a vid explaining your experience of the sun's appearance in the sky during the southern hemisphere's summer would be appreciated!
