The lyrics are absolutely incredible. The creativity in his usage of English is like how a foreign speaker describes things in such an abstract way, yet we're able to understand it. So creative
2023 and Jim posted a version of this to his own TH-cam channel and it's also a masterpiece. I love this version but I think I love the new version more although it's possibly just recency bias
I got rid of all my CDs when streaming became a thing, but I kept all three of my Sparta albums which are now on display in my office at home. Always will have a special place in my heart. Especially this live set.
man i used to listen to this band from middle school to highschool, waking up the early mornings and spending time with my mom every morning :) can't wait to see her when I get back home after i graduate university. i hope you guys are happy too :)
uughhhhhh omggggg I haven't watched this version in years and it makes me feel so nostalgic for 00's rock. Can't find anything new I like but this shit resonates so strongly with me....
@@anonemouse1470 Thanks for bringing me back here, I remember watching this 15 years ago. Seen Atdi a few years ago and it was not the same without Jim Ward.
Holy shit the acoustic version is fucking amazing. Wished they released an acoustic version of wiretap scars, the album coulda had bass and softer drumming too, woulda been sooo good judging by this video
Opinions differ, especially when it's about music. So technically you shouldn't say the mars volta is better, only that you find it better.;) I think tmv's first album was amazing, the other 2 nothing special. And I like Sparta, because of the melodies, Jim's voice and all the emotion in the songs. This acoustic live video is one of my favorites.
It's not drop D, I don't think, because they tune their lowest strings down at the end of the song without changing the rest. Although I'm not familiar with how to play this song... their tuning at the end of it doesn't seem to suggest anything lower than D, like drop C (which would require retuning all the strings). Sorry, is this making any sense?
Its definatley Dropped D - but there arent any tabs for their acoustic stuff. You just need to figure it out from the original version. Thats what I had to do for "Air"
what is point even saying something like that. this is a youtube video of sparta. not mars volta. this same arguement happens all the time and its getting annoying
I agree, I am a big mars volta fan and sparta fan but they are obviously two completely different bands...i also agree with joris DEloused album was sick but the other two werent that great...

2020 and this is the GREATEST performance of this song

Anyone know the chords for the ryhtm guitar in this part? And the tuning, I'm thinking it's drop D.

Who watched this in 2006, died, got reincarnated and is watching again?
Its definatley Dropped D - but there arent any tabs for their acoustic stuff. You just need to figure it out from the original version. Thats what I had to do for "Air"
The other guy's guitar needs to be recharged, he's only at 13%
anyone figured out the 70% + 13% mystery?
Been 20 years. Still love to know haha
@@Jinxy172 me too :D
Mic volume percentage for vocals.

adti would have been better with this dude on lead vocals and the rage against the machine gone
johnny huff agreed man. Jim Ward is a legend
