- This is the debut album of Tyka Nelson, most famous for being Prince's sister. Apparently she refused help from him to produce this album. It's pretty dated but honestly some of these songs slap! Enjoy!! :)

I still rock the album from time to time. Thought I was the only one who liked it. I could appreciate that she chose to do it all on her own and refused any help from her brother Prince.

Me and one of the best friends I ever had, who sadly passed away from breast cancer several yrs ago, used to sit on her lil balcony and listen to the album Royal Blue in the 80s. I thought of this today, actually, while watching a docu on the Troutmans and how so many untimely deaths have plagued that fam, and learning about Alexii Alijai ...who was a dope rapper, and super talented, & died way to young....As did Prince OFC!
And memories of Sue Ann Carwell, another talented one, who I went to school with...🖤❤️
Its amazing how much talent comes out of Minnesota. Anyways, Theresa & I loved the album Royal Blue.

I was an intern at the recording studio in Zebulon NC where most of this was recorded/ mixed!! :) I was 16 and she was super sweet, beautiful and mesmerizing!!!
Thank you for uploading. I had this album in high school. I was trying to find it on Spotify, but couldn't. Brings back lots of memories!
i'm just now finding out this album exists and after listening to it it definitely had a lot of potential to be a crossover hit. i do remember the song "No Promises" getting played a lot on the radio as a kid but didn't know who sung it and have not heard it since the 80s. come to find out it wasn't even a official single. never heard marc anthony tune before but it reminds me a little of Shanice and Kiara song "This Time" that came out i believe that same year.
I have been trying to get people to listen to this album since it first came out w/o telling them that she was Prince's little sister.
She refused any assistance from him choosing to make it on her own. Unfortunately Tyka's drug issues prevented her career from taking off like it should.

WoW, this is an incredible music start for Tyka. I love this entire album. My favorite jam on this one is L.O.V.E. But even to say that, I feel guilty because the rest of this lp is so incredibly produced with the most smooth, strongest and cleanest vocals by Ms. Nelson. She sings like one of heavens most cutest missing angels. If you guys are digging this Royal Blue Tyka joint, then you should really check out her sophomore album “Yellow Moon Red Sky”. It’s my personal favorite out of all her albums. Her singing arrangements on that album are just simply incredible and the ballads are to die for. As far as her Royal Blue debut album, I have it on vinyl, cassette and CD! This one easily gets a 4 and a half stars out of 5.

Never heard of or seen this artist before, so I wasn't sure why I decided to listen. But then track 3 starts playing- and I realise right away that it's the basis for my favourite vaporwave song

I found this album on vinyl at Family thrift store 10 YEARS AGO and I found a lot of good stuff at that place as I was one of their most loyal customers for over 25 YEARS and they were out of buisness when I made a visit last year.

I have a problem with my smartphone and my i pad it’s not secured tomorrow the monteur comes for the safety on the telefoon and wifi so you now my iPhone is out but my i pad have they saved by apple now i have one go to the store to make it the already have broken in to my home the last time was 31 jan 2023 from 13:00 to16:00 a was at the opening below the building with classic music so nice but i saw someone in the firetrap who had left the door open with a paper i have to take care of everything i right you later and we have to do our thing for ourselves get good help from good people and for your and my brother thanks for the good help 👍🏻✍🏽🥰🌺😻🗺
