Everyone starts somewhere! Amazon and thrift stores are great starter resources. Amazon has cheap but good quality wigs, as well as cheap accessory options. Thrifted clothes can be altered to better fit the character in question--either by paint or by sewing. My personal favorite resource is ThredUp--an online thrift store--combined with the Honey plug in; I just got my Toga cardigan for $6. Starter cosplays tend to be rough around the edges, but it's okay! You learn from yourself as you grow. My first cosplay was pants I already owned, a $15 wig from Amazon, and a $2 shirt from Michael's with a logo I painted with acrylic paint. I'm now a more well-versed cosplayer, but I still thrift and closet cosplay as much as I can; you really don't need that much money to do a proper cosplay. The most expensive things tend to be shoes and wigs, but those are things you really don't want to skimp on.

The Alastors costume is nice but there's a way to make your voice sound more manly if your a women cross dressing. Takes practice but if I can do it so can she. Nice panel though.
