I was excited to hear about this game and knew I'd be backing it right away. I'm a little disappointed that it doesn't have a true 2 player mode, but requires a simulated player to be played at lower player counts.
Hi Dylan, I am not a fan of automa systems at all myself, especially in 2p games (I even sold Dune Imperium because of it haha!) and I had the same thoughts initially - but this one is not like the others i've tried that overcomplicate the process. It's really simple and necessary for this style of game. We tried it without the autowalker once just to see what it was like and because of the bidding and walking phase you definitely need the autowalker to create some competition for bidding and keep the pace in the walk phase. It also helps balance scoring in the breed experts so it's not a basic tug of war. While I do love pure 2p modes, I appreciate them adding this in so it could play as 1-2p as well, otherwise I believe it would have to be a 3+ player game and that would be a real shame! I hope you love it and find the autowalker easy to integrate in too! 😀
