He's busy, but he's young, and his style will calm down. I believe this guy will stick in the NHL. He's incredibly athletic and reads plays like a book

Remember Rinnes progression through the years from relying on his athletiscm and aggressiveness flying through the crease to how he end up winning Vezina throphy. They let him developed on his own way ,same they did with askarov now.

I thought the same thing about Delia in the Chicago franchise but he never seemed to settle down.

Nashville’s defence was absolute dog 💩 he’s very capable of being a top 5 goalie in the league

He looks exactly like a young Marc-Andre Fleury. I would love to see a video comparison, it's uncanny. He struggled greatly for several years in the NHL before calming down and letting his athleticism work after he was in position.

Askarov strikes me as an incredibly athletic goaltender who is still immature in his play reads. He over-commits to the shooter and doesn't pull in as much information about the situation as he could, and depends on his freakish athleticism to bail himself out. It's worked at lower levels, but I'm not sure it's sustainable at the NHL level. This could come with time and good coaching though.

Audio seems a little loud other than that good vid

He seems slow to go from a relaxed stance to a more engaged one when theres a shooting threat. Slow to get off the post too.

Guy at the other end had a solid game too… too bad you didn’t review both

I love the kids potential obviously hes not there yet, but with a year or two developing in the AHL he will be there.
