That's exactly what they do. It just changed the speed of the animation not the velocity of the pitch.

@@dawson.5 outlier is a perk that lets you throw 102 consistently. Some cards can throw 99 mph, but can’t or sometimes throw 102 because they don’t have outlier

102 is top speed and the sliders change the visuals only

The thing about the sliders is the pitch speed is actually the same, but your opponent online sees it faster than lower sliders
In RTTS after you grind out your archetypes you can reach levels above 99 overall in certain categories. You should ask the community to see if somebody has unlocked the Cheese tree all the way to diamond yet

Also, the pitch speed setting only changes how fast every MPH pitch appears. It doesn’t actually increase the velocity
The sliders make the pitch get to the plate faster but doesn’t actually change the velocity. Kinda like as u go up in difficulty the pitch speeds are faster.
Sliders effect how fast the pitch gets to the plate. So if you are always very early swing you can speed up the pitch to have better swing timing
I think because his arms are longer (since MLBTHESHOW has taken strides this year) it decreases the length to the plate) so there is less distance for the velocity to drop and the ball to slow so his arm length makes a difference. Pitch velocity is judged when the ball reaches the plate not out of the hand so less length means less velo drop

There's literally a description telling you exactly what the sliders do. I would expect nothing less from RBT to be honest..

Plenty of Guys have Outliers that aren’t in Diamond Dynasty. Emmanuel Clase has a 102 Cutter and Andres Muñoz has an Outlier 4 Seam Fast Ball. That’s just a few

Outlier means that the pitch that has outlier will consistently be the highest possible velocity while pitchers that don’t have outlier but do have 99 velo like Big Wiener can reach that speed sometimes but inconsistently
The sliders “work” it increases how fast the pitches look coming in not the actual speed of the ball
One of the la dodgers pitchers throws a 93- 100 mph sinker and 4 seam fastball 97-101 and 87- 94 slider in franchise mode

Nolan Ryan did throw 108 but it wasn’t in a game it was before. They had him throw like 10 pitches and his highest was 108. Watch the doc called fastball it gives you a good grasp

The sliders don’t change it cause it says it makes the ball look faster/ slower when your hitting but the ball speed doesn’t change
It literally says in the settings for the sliders "these only change the visual speed of the pitch and do not affect the physics".
Kind of BS how it was clocked at 105, when the official speedometer clock in at 105.9
You should try it with a created player from road to the show. Because I’d be willing to bet you can get over 99 velocity with him
Off speed pitches get slower when u get velocity in them which is what you want. You want to be able to fool them

I'm pretty sure the pitch with max sliders is capping at 100 because when the sliders are default only a few pitchers can hit 100+ so there's no need for a hard cap, but with the sliders that high theere needs to be a cap so some rando with 80 velocity wouldn't be hitting 120 on a 4 seamer, even if it means the top tier velocity pitchers have their speed decreased

Pretty sure the slider is for actual speed of the ball in the game. Pitches obviously aren’t actually coming at 102mph on the screen so the sliders prolly just speed up the ball from the normal speed that represents 102mph
fastball pitch speed does not do anything it is so that you have less reaction time as a batter
Sliders don’t actually change the pitch speed it just makes it appear faster to the batter when your not playing the cpu
Sliders only change how fast it looks in the game. So it'll look faster in the game, but it won't change the clocked speed.

You should’ve done sinker, it’s fairly common that the fastest pitch a sinker pitcher throws is a sinker due to you getting a better spin rate and a better rotation angle (coming from a college pitcher)
Also it is easier for a pitcher to keep your fingers on top of the ball throughout the pitch

Jordan hicks throws faster than Chapman even after tommy John surgery.
Chapman is also getting older. Hicks hasn’t received enough recognition because he had only been healthy for 1-2 seasons

I played my brother today and I used Jacob DeGrom. And he Threw a 105 4seam FastBall. And my Game froze for literally 15 seconds. It was crazy.
My create a player has a 109 velocity and the highest I’ve hit is 102 and my other load out that has a 99 velocity also hits 102 this game is so weird

those sliders increase perceived velocity, also there’s about 15 players with outlier, most of them aren’t good cards tho
The sliders don’t affect the speed of the pitch on the radar, it only gives the human player less time to hit the ball.
You know legend difficulty and max out slider is still slower than real life right? The speed in mph said in the game is still the same no matter what difficulty or slider you play on because the higher the difficulty, the faster the pitch speed. The slider only change the actual speed and not increase the pitcher fastball speed display in the radar gun. I think it will be much better if you try practice hitting a 100 mph fastball with max out slider on legend difficulty because it is so fast. Because you can tell the difference between the normal and max out slider, the speed is much faster. Remember 100 mph fastball take roughly .375-.400 ms from the pitcher release point to home plate. In real life, your only see 100 mph in blink of an eye. Unreal which is why hitting a baseball the hardest thing to do in sport.

I have 112 Velocity on My Player. I can hit 101 on the running fastball, I wish I woulda leveled up the 4 seam instead, could probably hit 104
Question(s): Can you breakdown how you reached 112 Velocity? Equipment does not add to Velocity or Break, correct? Does it reflect 112 on your Player Card? Is that the number it showed when you placed your last perk on? Is it because you have the Pitch Velocity maxed at 50? Thanks in advance!

The 96-100 is where his velocity sits but he could top at a higher velo

I think the slider is for how fast his wind up is not how fast the pitch will be.. it's a slider to help with base stealing
It’s for how fast the pitch goes to the plate. So if your batting and you put the slider max then it’s going to look faster than if u put the slider to the lowest

Chapman probably doesn't have 99 for all of his pitch velocity ratings. All of the velocity ratings effect every pitch
