I've been having a hard time with my Myrtles. As soon as I trimmed it last year, the cut-ants came to visit and are all the new growth. There was a smaller one on the side of the house and the same ants went to eat all the green 3 times through Spring and Summer. I finally removed it and still have it in a pot 😬😂

I have 4 & 5 stems.
How late in season may I trim ?
It is a bit too late now to do any hard pruning. Late winter or very Early spring is the best time to do a pruning.
Our crepe myrtle only has two main trunks is that ok?
That is perfectly fine but, you can let a third one grow if wanted.
How old is your crepe ??
