I started having sisures after a bad breakup at 23. I had lots different types of medications. At my 30 I started taking keppra. The side effects were not what my doctor told me. At my 40th started with meditation, my life changed. Now I'm 53 and I barely take any type of madication. Meditation helps a lot and I have been sleeping much better.

I was born with epilepsy and cerebral palsy. I have a twin brother, i was born first. My brother was born with no problems. I take phenytoin for my epilepsy, as a child I was on phenabarbatone, then at 14 i was put on Epilim 500mg. Which caused me to gain lots of weight. I went to live in Canada for a few years where I was taken off eperlim & switched to phenytoin. Which I still take today. As a child I had grand mal seizures, which doctors said I would grow out of. Which I did, but I now have petit mal. It' feels weird when I have it, i can hear all thats going on around me, but ppl and any noise, sound much louder, plus it feels like I'm floating on water. Before the seizure I get the smell like burnt toast. I can have a seizure at any time, night or day. Unpredictable. I feel a little confused when I come round, which lasts for a couple of minutes, then I'm back with you again. Usually a cup of tea helps me recover. I read a lot of blogs where people who shared their testimonies kept mentioning Anti-seizure Herbal medication. I searched for a website I just followed the email address of Doctor Patrick that was shared on these testimonies; I got lucky when I got a reply from Dr. Patrick. I followed his instruction, used Herbal Medicine in less than 2 months, I was already cure because of the changes I was seeing. Within a period of 5 months, I was cured totally forever. I went back to my neurologist, I was checked up and marked epilepsy free. If you need his help you can Contact this herbal doctor via his email herbalmedicalhome@gmail.com and WhatsApp connection is +2348102558553 for help...

The majority of my seizures occur at the moment I go into deep sleep. I had some seizures during the day, but most occur in my sleep. I am currently off prescriptionsn and have maybe three or four per year. Where I am today compared to where I was in my twenties is a big difference considering I was having four or more seizures per week to just a few per year. My biggest problem today is mood swings and anxiety.

That ESS is horrible for me. I was so tired I forgot where I worked and couldn't remember which driveway was mine, couldn't talk, couldn't remember anything, but I had such bad anxiety and hypervigilance that I could stay awake from brute force. I don't randomly fall asleep places. Ever. They gave me that scale and then told me I don't have an issue because I am not sleepy. It took like 15 years after that to be diagnosed with two debilitating sleep disorders

I have no idea what happened. I was asleep. I woke by electricity from behind my right ear, down my spine all the way to my toes. It pulled my arms, legs, & head off the bed. My heart is racing. Panting for breath hard & fast. My whole body hurts. My head is buzzing. I feel like I ran a marathon then stuck a fork in a wall socket.
This has happened before, many times; usually if I overdo it physically, which I did today. It alway starts behind my right ear.

    • @zzombada
      @zzombada 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

I also identify with that same type of seizures , it starts in my forehead and as the electricity moves from my forehead and travels to the back of my head my body feels the electricity is felt as it travels down , it leaves me exhausted and tired , after many medicines that didn't work , levetiracetam has worked great , I will get auras sometimes but no seizures since 2003 and not one seizure when waking up . Thumb size brain tumor behind my right eye was the cause of my seizures

    Heres the situation:
Decades of severe daytime sleepiness. 10+ years eeg testing shows Temporal lobe epileptiform spiking with some frontal lobe involvement. I have never had a known seizure.
Was treated with cpap for severe OSA a couple years ago, but my apnea events increased dramatically along with central apnea events developing during treatment .
Ive been through 3 overnight sleep studies with no mslt.
I have definitely gone into rem sleep during dayrime naps, but not always, and at 57 years old, have experienced only 2 obvious cataplectic full body drops in my lifetime.
My last neurologist suspected complex partial seizure/epileptiform disorder but attributed my brief, weak muscle drops with full consciousness to 'something else'
If an mslt does not show narcolepsy what in the world could be going on with me. Feels like brain damage. My daytime sleepiness is crippling.

Ps. Epstein- barr virus showed up active on a routine blood test in my late 30s. I am otherwise VERY HEALTHY.
Past MRIs unremarkable- besides a higher ratio of white matter found than is typical- which i was told could cause migraines. Who really knows.

*in regard to grandmal seizures, what interests me is how each seizure is near IDENTICAL from person to person but the causes are so vastly varied. it's so interesting and confusing. what else compares to such a major crisis like a grand mal seizure but has so many different causes??*
*it looks to me like this type of seizure is specifically a sleep disorder and is very closely related to narcolepsy. a narcoleptic falls suddenly asleep and wakes up as suddenly but an epileptic seems to have extreme turbulence falling into sleep and waking out of it. but that's exactly what it looks like, a sudden and spontaneous plunge into a sleep state and thereby, a sleep disorder. but, there are so many different causes of a grand mal seizure so it's definitely and absolutely **_not_** congenital or genetic. each grand mal seizure is astoundingly the same, it's the causes that are vastly different.*

What is Deja vu seizures? I’m a little baffled by this. I’ve been back to the seizure before ? Lol ? Don’t understand. I’ve had 4 spikes before. I’m 69. They scratch their heads. Seizures began after Covid vaccines. This is a nightmare. My life is destroyed. I can’t sleep. They won’t give me anything to sleep. Why ? Ugh. These seizures are just horrible.
