I'll never forget the first time I heard this track. Encore by Sander Kleinenberg and I swear I saw some people pass out when they guitar riffs began. It was quite magical. Opera-Atlanta-2004ish
that tingly tune at the start that runs througout this tune, rises and falls with the song. WOW. Love it, pure class reminds of the Ultravox classic instrumental track Astradyne. I love it when producers get that clever with a song.
April-10-2009! This song stuck with me 9 years later, with all heartbreaks, all lies i've heard, even the backstabs along those years. This song always puts me back to the first time I got my heart torn apart to pieces. Despite the melancholic memory it holds, this song always soothes my mind like a drug you take in just to feel numb.
this song is the best ever!!!!!! i just gave up drugs and it makes me think about how much better my life could be if i never started them. it makes me cry thinkin about how much i've wasted my life and how much i've got to think about!!!!!
I usually don't like remixes but I purchased this album in its entirety and I love it, amazing for a B-sides album. This remix seems sad though, but amazing, electronic, try driving at night with this song playing, amazing
one of the best remixes i've ever heard in my life its absolutely timeless as well; i could listen to this everyday and just not get bored there's just so much to it fucking love you stuart price
I'm not going to lie... I prefer the White Duke Remix to the original studio version. This one is insanely beautiful and completely harnesses the lucious dreamscape and the bare honesty of this tune. Totally legend stuff.
The original song is great and the remix is even better. La canción original es genial y el remix es incluso mejor. I LOVE THE KILLERS!!! GLORIA from SPAIN
@KowalDW You do realize that The Killers - Mr. Brightside (Relanium Remix) is almost an exact rip of this one right? the other one he added like that snapping noise and that was it. but other than that it uses this same exact song beat and lyrical singing just with stuff added on top of it... The Killers - Mr Brightside (Jacques Lu Cont's Thin White Duke Mix still takes the cake.
True that (and I think you are right about the cocaine reference)--but David Bowie also had a radical change in his music during the Thin White Duke era, it featured a much heavier use of synthesizers and choppy rhythms. Whenever I hear any song which resembles this mix I think of the Bowie albums Station to Station and Low
The thing i dont like about most remixes is that usually its a slowed down version of a song with extra beats in the background and some fancy echo effects, just like this.
it's a different style then the killers fans are used to, but to me alot of their music is that way. it causes you to widen your taist in music. it may not be the best but atliest they are expirementing with their options it's kinda cool in an abstract way....
saw brandon flowers @ brixton last night, and he came on stage saying how this version had "bettered something he had done", on c ame mr price,, and they played the remixed version live... so there we have it, straight from the horses mouth.
Nah, it's Stuart Price. He's produced Seal, Madonna, loads more. Aliases/bands: Les Rythmes Digitales, Zoot Woman, Jacques Lu Cont, SPD, Thin White Duke, probably a few more.
i agree with you in general, but this one is better than that.. it has some extra 'electronic' riffs, which are combined very well with the original ones, and very good mastering
i think they didnt want to make this song better than it was... its just a remix... obviously it does not have the same feeling and it is not better than original, it's just another way to hear it... I like it, it just makes you feel good... relax, hear, and ejoy this band!
The thin white Duke was an alter ego of David Bowies after Ziggy Stardust. I think that it is also a name for cocaine, but apparently stuart Price has also taken it as his moniker.
This is by far the best version of the song. It's fantastic to play this song really loud on great speakers...
Both versions are fantastic. This version is much more techno and harkens back to the 80's and 90's....sounds great to hear this type of music again.
Truly, one of the best pure remixes of a track ever. Makes the original sound like a first take - pure platinum.
Quite simply the best remix in the history of dance music - seriously.
I love this song so much, and I agree, playing it at night, in the car, in summer, when it's cool outside, and the lights are flashing by...
How anyone can slag this version off is beyond me.
It's a fucking masterpiece.
And I don't say that lightly.
I'll never forget the first time I heard this track. Encore by Sander Kleinenberg and I swear I saw some people pass out when they guitar riffs began. It was quite magical. Opera-Atlanta-2004ish
One of the best remixes ever made of a song I think.
that tingly tune at the start that runs througout this tune, rises and falls with the song. WOW. Love it, pure class reminds of the Ultravox classic instrumental track Astradyne. I love it when producers get that clever with a song.
An incredible version of the song
I close my eyes and lose myself in this tune. PERFECT

I know what you mean. For better or for worse, songs like this allow you to see the silver lining.
Hope you’re well.
I never grow tired of this remix! Had this song pumping on the iPod for almost a year and it is still going strong.
This song is really the ... PARADISE! How can somebody do like this? Really enjoyable and very very very very good song! I like it!!
this song is the best ever!!!!!! i just gave up drugs and it makes me think about how much better my life could be if i never started them. it makes me cry thinkin about how much i've wasted my life and how much i've got to think about!!!!!

GLORIA from SPAIN
this song lifts me up my morale
As unbelievable as it may seem, I actually like this version better than the original! LOVE IT! :)
I never... I never... I NEVER... I NEVER... (best moment!) I NEVER... I NEVER...
Jacques Lu Cont should just team up with them and remix their entire back catalog. They'd make millions.
Yeah I love that remix
Nice Remix.... One of the best
i just love it that you think that its ending at around 5:50 but that its restaring again
Jaques lu Cont (thin white Duke) has magig hands.
He makes out of a sucking song a real great track.
I really like this mix.
really great!
Gorgeous.

This mix is ten times better than the original.
just brilliant
geat, really great!
Also his remix of starsailer four to the floor, great!
who is The thin white duke anyway??
i thought the original song was great until i listened to this really amazing "remix"- wild.
Essa versão é linda demais!
True that (and I think you are right about the cocaine reference)--but David Bowie also had a radical change in his music during the Thin White Duke era, it featured a much heavier use of synthesizers and choppy rhythms. why the best remix??? there are so much remixes more, this isn't the best :P but a good one.
Sounds as good today as it did back in '05.
Este tema me hace soñar despierta!!
hey i love this version. It looks like a lot of the orgional but i think it's better. Brandon's voice is so attracktive!
hmm... this is just one of those songs where you want to lay down in bed and listen to brandon's beautiful voice ringing through your head... :)
The thing i dont like about most remixes is that usually its a slowed down version of a song with extra beats in the background and some fancy echo effects, just like this.
Gracias a este remix conoci a los de Nevada , nieve viste?, conoci la musica electronica y el Trance . Thanxs
You know there is a neat little thing called pitch control on your vinyl / CD player, so you can speed it up if you dont like it being slowed down.
think white duke=genius
royksoap-what else is there remix is mindblowingly eargasmic
awesome♥
grandiosa cancion¡¡¡
it's a different style then the killers fans are used to, but to me alot of their music is that way. it causes you to widen your taist in music. it may not be the best but atliest they are expirementing with their options
it's kinda cool in an abstract way....

no one does it better than Stuart Price!!!
Nah, it's Stuart Price. He's produced Seal, Madonna, loads more. Aliases/bands: Les Rythmes Digitales, Zoot Woman, Jacques Lu Cont, SPD, Thin White Duke, probably a few more.
far much better than the original version..

Malufet!
i agree with you in general, but this one is better than that..
