hiya sparky, im currently mid build on a 114 gta, with a trophy vvc to go in, cant find a short loom for the ecu, any ideas? ive had no reply from any metro power members, i do have a full mgf vvc loom, but wiring not my strong point. also want to stiffen the rear susspension. any help appreciated, great track car, by the way :) south wales mg owners club.

Hi Mark. Unsure on making a VVC engine fit in a Metro. I believe MEMS 3 ECU is the one to have, any more than that and I don't know! We have a blade type anti roll bar on the back and that is it. You don't need rear turrets or anything fancy, just some new cans from Paul and Dawn Kennedy on Facebook and a good anti roll bar and off you go

@@WilliamsMotorsport yup, have a mg turbo rear anti roll bar, poly bushed front and rear. But still very soft on the back end. Even though at right height, with front gti bar, polly bushed, mgf drop links

@@WilliamsMotorsport yup got a mems 3 ecu, have a stock mpi 1.4 8v, with a break out box fitted, pipper straight through, 52mm throttle body and race filter, much better throttle responce and talk, but just no stiff enough for a track car. i will give those 2 a call on the spheres. car just had 2 sills, archs, floor pans. have to drop tank and rear subframe now (perfect time for spheres) to do welding up under osr mountin point.

@@markhuckercelticcrossbows7887 Have you cut the rods for the hydro cans? If not cut them down then you can pump up the cans to a higher pressure. But speak to ian and dawn first as they can do all of that with refurbished cans for a good price.

Hiya, i havent cut the rods, as i dont have the facilities to do it, ive asked a few local garages, but they said no. Ive put the car on sorn for a few months though and will get the cans off. and send them up to ian and dawn, with the rods. i do have a pair of rear metro turbo springs to fit as well. is there any difference between the gti and standard cans. or just pumped to a higher pressure on the fluid and the gas? cheers mark

Good job "destroying" road cars on their warm down laps in your fully kitted race car you had to trailer to the event lmao
