I plan to use the external mic for my wife when I record video, and if the internal mic also record the voice, I will use it to record my voice, the operator of the Pocket 3. So is it possible?

Awesome! Ty! Do you know why DJI is being so secretive about the mics specs? Practically nothing on the box, I had to go to the online manual to see 32 bit float and even that is vague
I have both - they are two very different cameras. In terms of Image quality, the Insta360 X3 doesn't even come close to the Pocket 3. However it does record 360 degrees, which the Pocket 3 is not capable of. The Insta 360 X3 is also a lot more durable then the Pocket 3. You can submerge the Insta 360 X3 in water and it is a lot more built like an action camera - i probably think you could drop it a few times and nothing will happen. The Pocket on the other hand...not so much. And if you want to use it in very dusty environments, the Insta 360 X3 would probably the better choice too, because there are no moving parts. In terms of image quality and stabilisation the Pocket 3 is hard to beat. As i said, the Insta 360 X3 doesn't even come close to the image quality of the Pocket 3. It has a smaller sensor, less bokeh, no autofocus and much worse lowlight capabilities. Furthermore you can not add any mics or ND filters to it. If I had to decide which one to get, i would probably ask myself, which kind of camera do I need. If it's a 360 degree camera, I'll get the X3. If I don't need a 360 degree camera, I would go with the Pocket.

I have a few questions regarding audio on DJI Pocket 3 and DJI Mic 2. 1) If you record audio on the loose microphone DJI Mic 2, how long can you record in total before the memory is full? 2) If you do not link DJI Pocket 3 and DJI Mic 2 together, you can record on both devices at once. 3) If you connect a stereo microphone to the DJI Mic 2, will it be recorded in stereo?
1 - I think there is 2 gigs of storage in it.I think it will go for like 3 to 4 hours and even more. 2-definitely, there is storage in mic and If u don't link Pocket 3s camera internal mic gonna record for sure. 3-Not sure about third party mic, If it's DJIs mic than it will.
I think the pocket 2 hard case is way better with the tiny metal foldable tripod able to be stored on the side and it’s almost new tripod looks huge and bulky compared to the old one. The pocket 2 ND filter set came with 4 filters I believe, odd that the 3 comes with 3 filters and starts at 16 and goes to 256…is that last filter that useful? Maybe for extra long exposure I guess. With they would have included ND 8 as well and 32
Thanks for the info, Suzi! Mine arrives in a few days without the combo. The new mic is pretty slick, but I will use existing DJI and Rode systems. I imagine using a third party tripod which I’ve already attached a cold shoe for accessories like the recievers.

Do you think this camera would work well to do "Table Top" reviews? The ability to zoom in tight with perhaps a macro lens would be a key feature. Thanks for the video.
Would the GPS remote for the Action 4 work with the Pocket 3? I have found that the original tripod with extension and small bluetooth which was for the Action 2 also works with both the 3 and now the Action 4. It is just that I like that the mic with the pocket 3 can be used to remotely control and if the GPS remote worked it would be one more tick for buying the base kit as I have a tripod that was for the DJI Mobile 6. Just planning what I'll get myself for Christmas. Best Dave
@@Gemini_Connect I will check it out when my Combo kit arrives. Was originally thinking as I have the Mic kit and tripod that will fit, to just go with the basic kit, but the remote operation using the Mic2 was the thing that swayed the choice. Best Dave
The creator combo go with only one dji mic 2, and what make me hesitate is when the dji mic2 with battery case release, i will get 3 dji mic2 and that is excessive
The terms don’t say anything about the battery, but I would imagine that 2 or 4 replacements is 2 or 4 replacements, regardless of what caused the need for the replacement. They’re also offering a third year of coverage.
@@Gemini_Connect Thanks for replying to all my comments. Really enjoying all your videos very informative, I think I’m going to buy but now the combo kit is sold out everywhere until maybe December. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for this, I'm expecting to get this camera in a couple of days. Regarding the ND filters - your link, due to my location (Sweden) leads to a large list of different NDs and some are made by non so well known brands. I'm expecting the DJI's own ND are ... best? I can't find a dedicated set of NDs for Pocket 3 but the ones for DJI Mini 3 Pro & DJI Mini 3 on DJI website... Thanks!
I don't like the fact it's not waterproof, which the DJI action camera is. So I'm unsure which to buy. I feel the creator pack doesn't include the correct items, I would prefer they added some ND filters too Instead of the tripod and carrying case, or at least have the option to choose various creator packs depending on your own needs.
Hi Gemini! I purchased a Pocket 3 Creator combo, but i need two microphones. Is it possible to buy one microphone piece and connect it without a transmitter, or will I be forced to buy, for example, a Dji Mic or another kit with a transmitter?
I’ve always favored the Insta360 selfie stick for being lightweight and compact and getting pretty long if needed. Also has a 1/4” thread on the bottom to add a mini tripod. But it may be a bit too long, depending on how you plan to shoot with the Pocket 3.
Hi great video. I just received the DJI Pocket 3 Creator Combo. I just unboxed it and watched your video. I have the DJI clip on microphone with the feather however I do not see the any plug in receiver in the creator combo package. Is this an extra accessory that I would need to purchase in order to actually use the DJI clip on microphone? Also I do not see a memory card that comes with this kit? If you get credit for selling the items please provide me with a link to each items I need and I will buy from your link so you get credit.
I have affiliate links below that give me a small commission at no extra cost to you. The DJI Mic 2 that comes with the combo does not need a plug in receiver. It connects to the Pocket 3 and select other cameras like the Osmo Action 4 and iPhones via wireless Bluetooth. Also, I don’t think the combo includes a memory card, so you’ll have to purchase separately.
Warranty typically only covers what can be deemed as factory mistakes. If you drop it, get it wet, etc that usually is not covered by warranty and you’d need insurance to cover those fixes.
Do you know of a verifiable (someone that has one and used it) SELFIE STICK that works with the DJI Pocket 3? It is the one accessory I can find no information on.😎
Boy… two very different cameras. If you want to shoot in 360, definitely go for the X3. I use it a lot in place of my action camera these days. Also if you need a waterproof relatively tough camera, the X3 is better. But the Pocket 3 is nice for slow, relaxed, more cinematic style shooting.
@@Gemini_Connect thanks for the reply! Can you also suggest a backpack attachment for the pocket3? Feel free to provide an affiliate link! Happy to support the channel. 😊
I dont really need the extra battery or the wide angle lens. But i wonder how long the built in battery will last before it starts to not be good anymore. Because no camera battery last forever. And once it goes you can throw the camera in the trash. I dont get why they made it a built in battery. I like the wireless mic but i dont really think the sound quality is that good. And I like the filters to get correct exposure in different situations. Personally i just want the 3 filters and tripod and bag. The mic i would like but i am not sure the sound quality is good enouph to justify buying it.
Stupid question! Is the external mic better than the internal mic just purely based on quality? In other words is the external Mic only worth it because of its portability? Thank you for the awesome video and breaking it down!
External mic is worth it for the audio quality, and also the ability to record audio directly to the transmitter (it has internal storage) and you can use the transmitter as a remote for the Pocket 3 to trigger the shutter button.
I feel like I was misled by the initial reviews by others that the black mist filter would come standard on the creator combo... In any case, still very satisfied with the camera and having a lot of fun making videos of things I otherwise would have never even really thought about making.

Thanks for the great review. Can it record audio from 2 wireless mics? For example if I want to use it for street interview where the interviewer/cameraman wears 1 mic and the interviewee wears the other mic. Can it record the 2 audio sources onto 2 different audio channels?
Do you think this camera would work well to do "Table Top" reviews? The ability to zoom in tight with perhaps a macro lens would be a key feature.
Thanks for the video.
Yeah, I think it would be great for that.
Can you use two DJI wireless mics (both of the new version) with a single DJI Pocket 3, so two people can be mic-ed up?
You can connect two of the DJI Mic 2 transmitters (not the ones from the original DJI wireless mic systems) and have 2 people mic’ed up.
Best Dave
I don’t think the Action 4 remote is compatible, unfortunately.
@@Gemini_Connect I will check it out when my Combo kit arrives. Was originally thinking as I have the Mic kit and tripod that will fit, to just go with the basic kit, but the remote operation using the Mic2 was the thing that swayed the choice. Best Dave
Nicely done 👏👏👏 as always! Where did you get your green deskmat from ?
Good video although I had a question, can an external microphone be connected through the USB-C port of the simple extension with tripod base?
Yes
Can you stack the filters on top of each other ? For example black mist with wide angle or ND .
You can’t, unfortunately. I suspect the weight is too much for the gimbal.
You cannot because they are magnets and they detract each other and wont stick together.
So if i use dji mic 2 i would need to manually sync video and audio?
Good question. When the transmitter is wirelessly connected to the camera, the audio is already synched. In camera.
Great video
Can’t buy the creator combo yet in the USA
The creator combo go with only one dji mic 2, and what make me hesitate is when the dji mic2 with battery case release, i will get 3 dji mic2 and that is excessive
Cheers so much for all your time in saving us money and time as well in deciding
I think your camera's out of focus
Does the warranty cover the internal battery, what happens after two years when the battery is most likely to fail.
The terms don’t say anything about the battery, but I would imagine that 2 or 4 replacements is 2 or 4 replacements, regardless of what caused the need for the replacement. They’re also offering a third year of coverage.

Thanks for replying to all my comments.
Thanks!
It's bogus the filters and the adapter is not available. How do you put the strap on?
They should be coming soon. There’s small holes for the wrist strap to the side of the record button. It’s a little tricky to thread them through.
There in the Pocket 3 menu there is an option to connect 2 transmitters, no receiver.
What is the best expander stick for dji pocket 3 ?
Also, I don’t think the combo includes a memory card, so you’ll have to purchase separately.
but doesn't it comes with automatic 1 year warranty after purchase?
Warranty typically only covers what can be deemed as factory mistakes. If you drop it, get it wet, etc that usually is not covered by warranty and you’d need insurance to cover those fixes.
Should I get the creator combo? I am going to Europe at the end of the year
I think it’s worth it!
Anyone here from Bangkok .. can you confirm if this model is available there and if yes , where
Do you know of a verifiable (someone that has one and used it) SELFIE STICK that works with the DJI Pocket 3? It is the one accessory I can find no information on.😎
Selfie stick as in a long pole? I use the Insta360 selfie stick with the Pocket 3 and find it useful.
@@Gemini_Connect Much Thanx!😎
For IRL streamers, can external power banks be used/connected to the USB-C port to extend streaming time?
Yes!
@@Gemini_Connect thank god. 😆
Can the filters be stacked?
No
Great video ❤ all very tempting. Loving the review. Thank you 😃👍 subscribed
Hi There, great vid. Does the Camera have AC as well and does it shoot Boca! Cheers from Vancouver.!
Thanks! This helped a lot!
How do you compare the cameras themselves and usage of pocket3 vs insta360X3?
Boy… two very different cameras. If you want to shoot in 360, definitely go for the X3. I use it a lot in place of my action camera these days. Also if you need a waterproof relatively tough camera, the X3 is better. But the Pocket 3 is nice for slow, relaxed, more cinematic style shooting.
@@Gemini_Connect thanks for the reply! Can you also suggest a backpack attachment for the pocket3? Feel free to provide an affiliate link! Happy to support the channel. 😊
@@Gemini_Connect would you say the insta360 x3 is better for VLOGGING vs the pocket3? & What about real estate? Thanks so much!
Great accessories tips! Thanks! 😊
@@Gemini_Connect thank you!
great vid per usual! But about that Ulanzi bag..... deets please!
Good question! It’s the Ulanzi shoulder bag, pretty sure the only one that they make. I personally love it and use it often.
I feel like I was misled by the initial reviews by others that the black mist filter would come standard on the creator combo... In any case, still very satisfied with the camera and having a lot of fun making videos of things I otherwise would have never even really thought about making.
