    Reggae music originated in Jamaica, but is not necessarily Jamaican music, by this time it has been so influenced by the outside that Jamaica no longer owns it.

    Sorry to raise the argument again, but mein1985 is so wrong, yes reggae originated in Jamaica, however, many people of many cultures contributed to what it is today. Reggae would not be as big had not for this fact and as for pioneering the artform, if mein1985 really knew the history, would know Jackie Opel a Bajan was a pioneer of ska and reggae, not forgetting trinidadian Lord Creator, also reggae, being influenced by mento, mento is not uniquely indigenous to Jamaica, dancehall also has borrowed heavily from soca and calypso too, so don't get it twisted bredren, check your facts.

    Reggae music is supposed to bring people together, not create division. Stop the bad- mindedness, please.

    We own reggae. We established reggae. We CREATED reggae.
    Without US, this music vidoe wouldn't exist, just as Trinidad created calypso and Soca. Thats their music. I doubt they'd use reggae music to background any of their videos.
    Quit copying and making lame exuses and make your own.

    Reggae may borrow from a few african influences like every other genre, but it was we, Jamaicans, who cultivated it and made it into one of the most respected, if not the most, genre that came out of the caribbean. the same goes for ska which is popular in the states right now. If they are so easy to create, and insignificant, why don't you guys create one of your own from Barbados? Trinis created and cultivated soca, and calypso. They also created the steel drums. What have you guys done?

    yo reggae is our music. why didnt you use your own music to background your video.
    reggae music is from jamaica not barbados..

  • @mein1985
    @mein1985 16 ปีที่แล้ว

    We created it so it is OUR music. What you are saying doesn't make any sense.
    You mention reggae in any part of the world and the first thing people note is Bob Marley, and JAMAICA.
    Not Barbados.
    You copying us does not mean that you are part owner or owner of the music.
    Get your own damn musical style and music.

  • @TdotSoul
    @TdotSoul 16 ปีที่แล้ว

    lol i never sad barbados was "part owner" i said jamaica doesn't own reggae, no one does, jamaica started reggae, congrats, at any rate its not even like you personally had anything to do with the creation of reggae so get over yourself

  • @mein1985

    @tysmith17 Reggae a fi wi music. Reggae was born in Jamaica, and will always have been born in Jamaica. Reggae cannot be indigenous to anywhere else but Jamaica. Everything else is nothing short of an imitation. I am sick of you Caribbean islands copying pockets of our culture and then calling it your own.
    Why can't you be like the Trinis and be more original with Calypso, Soca,. Carniva, Steelband music?
    This is not Bajan music.
