Thank you for this video. I’ve struggled to pick up my art supplies in the last year or so. No motivation it seems. But mostly I don’t feel like a “real artist” because I use reference photos. So thank you for re-affirming that everyone uses photos. Thank you for your videos ❤
Wow!!! Thank you so Much for this helpful video!!! The 3rd one Really hit me ! I love pointillism and I am practicing the Orca whale - this is Very, Very helpful to draw lightly and then darken later on. God Bless you!

One of the most difficult things I'm dealing with at the moment is losing confidence. One day I'll draw something better than I ever could and I'm all motivated and feel like I got this. And then 24 hours later I look at something I want to draw and feel like oh no I can't do this.
Hi Brendan. Your videos are so encouraging but I have one ask. When you are drawing in a video could you please tell us the time spent on creating the finished drawings. For myself at least it will help me understand how long the process has taken and to not get discouraged thinking I should be able to create a good drawing (not sketch) in half an hour or so .
I usually do these types of drawings between 1 hour and 1 hour 30 minutes. Difficult ones can take 2 hours maybe but rarely. But if you're just starting out, it may take longer. I've been practicing and drawing for many years, so I might be able to draw more quickly. It just depends, everyone is different. Hope that helps a bit.
I hope you become a great artist when you grow up!!! Keep practicing and never give up even if the beginning is tired or even if you have failed many times. Because you will definitely succeed in the end
I can almost draw a dog or cat face, but both sides are not really equal sizes. Or like this hound I drew, has a decent right half, but left is “flat” looking. Eyes look okay, (yep, too dark), just poor positioning of the 3/4 side face showing in pic. Help! Thanks! You have great instruction videos. Looking into the classes recommended soon.
I got a question for anyone who wants to answer. Do you work on multiple drawings at the same time? I have like 4 hung on my tack board, that I may or may not return to and add more. Only having a couple weeks of experience in drawing, I find it hard to commit to one page at a time.
Thank you so much your videos help alot but if you just let the drawing speed its in original speed, will be much more helpful . If not all,at least some parts! Thanks again!!
Hi !! I have recently started watching your videos it makes me feel that I kinda draw,,but whenever I draw it's just not on point even I put a lot of time,,i always feel below,,thinking of doing a college degree and also learn,,or should I just give all the time to it !?? Giving it full time makes me doubt myself more not bcz its not what it should be like but bcz of financial or also self doubting maybe,,can I do study and also be good at drawing....plz help me,,I really admire u !!?????
I absolutely cannot draw without a reference photo. I dont have the imagination to account for all the minute details that are needed for a good looking drawing. Unfortunately that restricts me as im unable to change the pose of the drawing because i lack the imagination on how to change the lines
I don't really believe that it is imagination at all. It's discipline, practice, and skill to be able to draw realistic things in different poses. Thousand upon thousands of times drawing it and creating a mental library.

Hey Brandon, is there any drawing course on Udemy that you would suggest for a complete beginner ? Or even books ?
Thank you
I love elephants. If your elephant needs a home I have a place on my wall for her.
Its home is his sketchbook
My tier list

It's good that you know the problem and can see it, that's one step closer to improving it :) Hope it goes well!
