My grandmas antique oak secretary and side tables. They were all lost in the fire. I love antique furniture and that piece (secretary) held a special place in my heart. She used to keep hard candy on the top shelf. Butterscotch and would play a game and I would win a candy! lol. I would stand and look at myself in the mirror of the door pretending I had all the butterscotch candies. She would smile and give me one. I often feel like the work that I'm doing on the computer feels like coloring in a coloring book. I had actually used that example when explaining what I'm doing and how I feel about it to a therapist that I was seeing. You then quickly pivoted and then mentioned 'that old paint program' which I often talk about when explaining what I appreciate in the field of Digital Art. It's the forgotten features that have gotten replaced with innovation which drives what I've been doing since I was forced to move down to West Virginia and start this Life process over here. It's been strange going from being a hand carved block printer creating one of a kind original clothing for the historical Tileworks back home transitioning to working on Digital Artifacts and try to present them as Art and finding my footing in unknown territory on every level.
