Playing ONE instrument at an elite technical death metal level is already impressive as hell. Playing both drums AND guitar at this level is absolutely astonishing. This guy is incredibly talented.

I didn't know either. I was just listening to this album and noticed there's no mention of who plays drums on the inlay card of the cd. I was very surprised to find he plays drums on the album as well!

Triggers can be used for more than the Bass. Its just used there more since its lower and a but harder to hear. For those of you who do not know what triggers make the bas drum sound like, Listen to the album "Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia" by Dimmu Borgir. There they are really turned up. Makes the drumms sound different and stand out more.

Dave susuki is just all in one Death Metal Musician..he is the Ian Anderson of Death Metal! About his druming..ye ok maybe its not George Kolias,maybe its not Hellhammer but he is doing his job Very Well. About not using cymbals..i think its cause thats the playstyle of Vital Remains and not just because he can't add some cymbals.Vital Remains is the edge of extreme death metal music and that reflects on Drums!
death metal musicians are like brothers to each other... they don't compete against each other, fool! But the are clearly better than most drummers out there...

Alot of metal drummers have triggered bass drums, which is what always gives them that clean and even clicking kick sound. It's not the actual sound of the bass drums, the drummer's feet are just triggering a computer to play the desired sound. The advantage of them is they can make sloppy and uneven double pedal drumming sound much much better, so it's seen as cheating by alot of drummers.

I am very serious. I have to complete a project for school to graduate and he is my "mentor". He lives close so he just comes to my house and mentors me and helps me learn to play bass.
Its alot easyer to hear if you suck on drums with triggers. minor mistakes will be heard mutch more than regular microphones. but I got more respect for the drummers that only trigger their bassdrums. but anyway, dave is a music god, he plays everything :D
