I'm English and speak only English ( shocker, I know...) Every now and then I get out the old Beginner's French CDs and torture myself by thinking, "Why didn't I keep learning French? Repetition...repetition. I could be fluent by now......" I hope I can persevere this time. Wish me luck.
Are there're some other videos continuing this topic about countries and nationalities (those like Asian, Eastern, ect,.)? Would be great to see it as your explanation is so clear dear Alexa!!!
HELLO I have a question. en Espagne(5:10), de l’Italie(5:40), du Portugal(6:20) Why does Italie need to add l’ and other don´t need to add le or la? Thank you.
Bonjour, I speak English, French (Intermediate), and Esperanto (Elementary). My French Language is improving at a rapid rate. Esperanto at a more sedate pace. English is my native language, as I live in Australia. Merci pour - "all your good videos!"
You included in your list a lot of countries (which is great), but you forgot some...like my country for example, Romania, which would be Roumanie in french.
I know English in B2 level and I study German and French languages. I hope I achieve. Especially I started French new. Your videos started to give me motivation
Bonjour ! Je suis indienne. Je parle hindi, anglais et Français (débutant). J’augmente avec ma vitesse d’apprentissage français. Merci beaucoup d’avoir fait ces tutoriels utiles. Merci!! au revoir!!
I like your video lessons very much and i have only just started learning from you. I hope to be able to speak enough french by summer when i go to France for a holiday. I am Turkish and live in Istanbul. I speak English like a native speaker. I learnt some French at school in England and hope to improve it with your lessons. Thank you for your great videos.
My mother tongue is Arabic , now I am trying to learn English and French . I think finally I found the channel that I was looking for because I really liked this video and now I am going to check the other videos , thank you ...
Hi, I believe you missed some countries in Europe. (like Romania a country that embraced French language in much of its vocabulary and tradition) -- From Emily, grade 3 elementary school, Toronto
I am really happy you made this video, but it makes me a bit sad you skipped so many countries: Slovakia, Czech republic, Slovenia, Estonia, Lithuania, Romania, Latvia, Albania, Serbia, Liechtenstein and probably some others...
+Ezra Isaacs 'En' is used with feminine countries (en France, en Italie, etc.) and 'au' with masculine countries (au Brésil, au Canada, etc. - oh, masculine countries that start with a vowel or an 'h' use 'en' too). 'Aux' is used with plural countries (aux États-Unis, aux Maldives, aux Pays-Bas, etc.) 'À' is used for 'most' cities. Like everything else, there are some exceptions ('dans' for some American states, for example).
Thank you. I have studied a lot from your videos. In my first French exam I got 21.5/25 but in my second exam I got 25/25. Again thanks for your support ❤️❤️
Great! Explanation at the beginning, selection of countries, and the idea of reading the list one country after the other - everything is top! Just Autriche is Austria, not Australia.
What about Malte? I understand it is Malte, Maltais(e) however on another note when it comes to the articles it is not clear. When one says J'habite en France, en Angleterre or J'habite au Maroc, au Japon etc. however J'habite en Malte sounds wrong regardless La Malte being feminine in my opinion. What is your view on this? Thanks and by the way your videos are extremely helpful!
We called Malta "Malte" or "république de Malte" (Republic of Malta). You're right, the nationality and language is "Maltais(e)". You're also right by saying "J'habite en Malte" sounds wrong. You can say "J'habite à Malte" (à ~= at) or "J'habite la république de Malte". The "problem" is Malte in french don't have a gender, it's a particular case. We can't say Le or La Malte so we use "à" and not "en"...BUT we can say "La république de Malte" or "La république maltaise". I hope that it can help you even with the big delay x)
I love your video. I am a Taiwanese and going to learn French because of my husband. If you can speak slower for sentences It will be better to learn how to pronounce the whole sentence. Merci

I am from Iraq and know a bit of Italian and dutch(Due to my sisters and my family) and I speak fluent Arabic and English. I am now studying for My dream to go to Paris and then to London. Btw thats why I speak a bit of Italian.
Netherlands - les Pays-bas - Néerlandais(e) United Kingdom - Le Royaume Uni - Britannique Estonia - L'estonie - Estonien(ne) Lithunia - La Lituanie - Lituanien(ne) Czech Republic - La République tchèque - Tchèque Cyprus - La Chypre - Chypriote Latvia - La Lettonie - Letton(ne) Malta - La Malte - Maltais(e) Slovenia - La Slovénie - Slovène
A useful rule: All countries of the world that their last letter is -e, are always feminine, with the exception of three: Le Mexique, le Mazombique, le Cambodge. And the opposite of course. If the country's last letter isn't -e, it's a masculine country.

HELLO
I have a question.
en Espagne(5:10), de l’Italie(5:40), du Portugal(6:20)
Why does Italie need to add l’ and other don´t need to add le or la?
Thank you.
cause the end of the article is vowel and so is the beginning of the following Noun since the vowel are crashing we add (l') an apostrophe
What about the three Baltic states?
