I just wanna say, thank you for making this video.. that is my father, Kevin Peebles, in the video and he passed away in 2020 from Cancer. When I’m missing him I watch this video and brings back lots of great memories of building pools with him. ❤😇
Hi Kaylie, Your father was a worker and craftsmen. He put those pools together like hotcakes 😊. It was sad to hear he passed and I’m sure he is watching over, he was a great man.
🥹♥️😇
Sorry for your loss.
Aww so sorry for your loss honey. My sister died of cancer a year ago. She just loved her pool and I also think of her when I am watching any pool stuff.
Awwwh 😢. Cancer sucks
Putting down the leveling compound before setting up the wall is a great idea! And that cart for rolling out the wall is genius. You definitely know what you’re doing even in Fila work boots!
You can tell this guy has put up a few pools in his life time... Excellent work, I began the ground work for my pool, and this guy makes it look so much easier... GREAT work, thanks for sharing.
But I noticed when screwing in the top screws they were not "tight" is that for expansion?
Yes, thank you guys. Really appreciate showing the vacuum to pull the wrinkles out and all the other steps you take in the order that makes the install so efficient. DIY guy here on my 5th install for my family members.
By far the best set up video I've seen yet. Bravo, gents.
This is the video I watched about 5 times when we put together our pool almost 4 years ago. I remember the funky music! It was a good video, we still have our pool all set up and it is just great!
excellent video! I love the way you held the walls up so that they wouldn't fall over and get damaged!
Man, that is one catchy beat while you’re working! Great video!
Who knew Jordan Peterson had a summer job. Nice work. Your videos (and life experience) have given me complete confidence that I can install my new pool, and build a deck on it too! Thanks Craig.
You can do it!
Wow. I’m amazed! We might get one of these steel pools installed by our local pool place/market. It’s about 5grand on the low end. We would rather have pros do it. As we would fail and have no clue what we’re doing and will end up breaking something. + no experience
Can’t believe the old guy moved all that sand by himself instead did those young bucks. Also really like how you used the shop cap to tighten up the liner
Dear Sir, You make things look way to easy. I did like the tanker truck to add the water. Go big or go home:)
Man, you make it look so easy, but you can see how much that frame weighs ... I think hiring IS definitely the way to go
That soundtrack will be stuck in my head for the next day or 2 😅
You did a great job explaining this! Our family thanks you!!!
I used to install pools 5 days a week with one other guy. It only costs about $80 - $130 to rent a skid steer/ bobcat. It’s definitely worth renting as the pools pay a decent amount of money. These guys are good are what they do and that’s 100% how to do it. The only thing I have to say is I don’t like the foam cove/ corners that they use. Believe it or not it’s better to make a cover out of dirt and pack it down with a tamper and water.
dirt over sand ???
I was just sittin' & chillin'. 🥶 Then I hit up this video! I gotta say yo, I kept on boogie-oogie-oogie-ing thru the whole thing! Shook my hips and clapped my mitts! 🧤Them drums 🥁 was giving my biscuits a butter beatin' son! 🧈 Boy was spittin' fairy dust all over my noodle holes....they be drippin'! 🧚 I had sciatica flare-up before this video...ITS GONE NOW SUGA!! 🔥Dunno where you got them beats, but I gotta go get to gettin' gone gettin' more of those thunder rapz! ⚡Shew dawgs they HOTTT!!! 🌶
Oh yeah. Pool was cool. 🏊
No explanation is needed as the video says it all. That's what the directions are for. 😂 👍
Great work . I've been building these things for 25 years
How much do you charge to build
@@MattScherrer716 A job like that would usually run about $ 1200
Mr. Johnny pools are you anywhere near Pennsylvania by chance? I need a new pool installed.
Awesome video! My husband and I do this for a living, and there’s never a boring day 🙈 Just made 3 different videos recently on my channel about comparing a “real” pool this this one in your video, to Coleman and Intex brand pools! 🤪🙌
I'll check it out!
Craig Heffernan Thanks man! 🥰
@@TheImpressiveMix what is the average cost of having one like this installed
We bought our sheet-metal pool from a friend. I believe we might be the third owners. It was a little bit rusty on the bottom but still went up just fine, I think these metal pools last a super long time. We have had no issues with ours whatsoever. I personally like how the cushion and the vinyl liner feel under your feet over a plaster pool. Much more pleasant. I couldn’t be happier with this type of pool, I plan on keeping it until I can’t maintain it myself anymore.
The blue world pool?
Good job fellas on building the pool but looked like you were struggling rolling out that wall. Coming from someone building above ground pools for 24 years, I'm gonna give you the best invention ever on rolling out a wall!!! A good old simple kids sit and spin!! Put your wall in middle of pool and you can roll it out one handed my man!
Joe Kroenung agreed. Been building above grounds for a few years now, in the middle is the best place, one unrolling one putting J beed and track on me putting wall into track

Hi Joe same here been building pools for 25 years. I will have to give that one a try. I build my own unit using two round pieces of aluminum connected by a heavy duty lazy Susan. It worked great for this past season so I patented it. Perhaps you'll see it in the next few years. But than again a sit and spin is so crafty and cheap, great Idea! cheers

Did anyone else just watch all the way to the end for the satisfaction feeling lol
Looks good. But not sure if I should do all this, for my 13 ×42 ft pool. Wondering if just simply putting gravel over the area on my grass, then putting pool on that will work.
What is the foam that you put on the ground below the pad??
I need content after this... I'm deciding if I wanna to stone or retaining wall... I'd love feedback
Does that leveling device allow you to check every single individual block
Hi, great video. But what is the name of the thing you guys used to hold up the pool wall as you went along. Its looked like a hook attatched to strings, then staked jnto the ground for support. Hope that makes sense lol
One end is tied to a stew driver that can be pushed in the ground. The other end is a double coat hook that is used to hold to the pool wall side go.magik.ly/ml/225bi/
I love how it looks in the ground but level. It makes it so it'll be easier to drain and water won't pool up around it's anywhere on the outside.

A long time ago I met a VERY rich man (he owned several businesses, never graduated college). I asked him, what is your secret to success, how did you become so rich and successful ... and he leaned over and he said, "It's all very simple... hard work, lots and lots of hard work." That has stuck with me, and I am constantly reminded of it every day... and especially in the comments below.
Great step by step video thanks for the close ups so we can actually see what you are doing!
Anyone know what the foam was he put around the bottom?
Wow that was awesome you must be really talented
Awesome vid and btw what brand is this pool
thanks for uploading Craig, now more videos please, I love your videos.
Wow this is a lot more work than I expected. Now THIS will be a challenge
Me and my husband and sons put up ours after watching this video a lot of times, yes it was a lot of work but it was well worth it. I’ve had the pool up for almost 4 years now. And I absolutely love it. I look forward to every summer I spend a whole lot of time in it, and once you get the hang of the chemicals it’s easy to keep clean and clear.
@@bbsal4031 out of curiosity...how many days did it take yall?
@@Nevada-Ny let's see that was back in 2018, one day and Sand delivered and spread it out, put down the tracking, then unrolled the metal siding put it in, secured everything put in screws. The next day laid down foam padding on top sand, then foam edging, put inliner, tried our best to smooth out the wrinkles, then water. So couple of days. I still have it up in 2023, it is still beautiful.
@@bbsal4031 thats awesome to hear!...appreciate the info and the fast reply
@@Nevada-Ny I'm the third owner of this metal pool. I think they last a very long time. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I do!
Hi. You installed the big swimming pool that weight more than 1000 litre. I would like to know if that weight can break the pool? Thanks
I just picked up this same pool, used. Hoping all the pieces are with it. Any info on the manufacturer or finding a contractor to help?
I Love the way they put the pool together.
What brand is that pool? I like it because the wall is one piece.
go.magik.ly/ml/22ay5/
Great video showing the basic setup. Thank you for posting this.
He doing all the work.
so detail. thank you!!
Glad it was helpful!
But how was the side backfilled? I would like to match grade to my yard but I'm worried about moisture and corrosion.
Me too
Never backfill to the side of the pool otherwise when or if you let the water out you’ll be removing the offsetting weight to the soil back filled and the pool will be like a crushed soda can when the weight of the dirt rips through it.
What pool is this ? I recently picked one up for free and need to replace mutiple parts for it but want to make sure it's the correct parts.
That is beautiful, how will I know how to install it
Cool im watching these vids cuz our pool filling up at home we had set it up today😂
You can also just use a shovel and simple level will work also
What is the material at 6:12? and what is the material you are using in the corners?
What kind of pool is this and what size is it? Thank you!
Thank You for the video. Might try to get a 18'er put up this weekend.
Very nice large Pool. Installation by pros the only way to go.
Is this a swim n play I need top rails for mine
great job - people dont realize the importance of prepping the ground - when filled pool is 80k plus lbs - and will easily collapse if not done right -
I keep thinking some dancers are gonna jump out from the woods and boogie big time. LOL!
💃🏾🕺🏿👯♂️👯
You have a strange way of thinking lol.
@Cody Webb NOPE nothing [strange] about it. The observation came by way of the LIVELY soundtrack playing throughout the vid. You did have the audio on ....
@@BrendaBaBoom yeah I did have audio and I didn't think for a second that random dancers are gonna jump out the woods and bust a move in the middle of a video about building a pool 😂
Cody Webb Thankfully everyone thinks different with different perceptions. Cody may I suggest you don’t take my initial comment too seriously, especially a pool installation vid ... chill out dude.😎
You're an artist.
Great video, just wondering if you lost a bet and whoever won got to pick the music.
Hi what kind of soil did you put before the liner?
what is the liner pad used and where do I get it
How do you get the pavers all level to each other ?
Was this done all in 1 day?
how many gallons does it fill up with
Very nice video. Thanks.
Did you not use coping to hold the liner? It looked like you put the stabalizing rails directly on.
This is a unibead liner
Good video for any do it yourself er out there. I have a question. I've learned that placing rocks that high around a steel pool will cause premature rusting. Not saying all situations as some good drainage areas don't really matter. Perhaps this is a good shed off area or that is rubber mulch that looks like rocks around the finished pool? I Install pools in Massachusetts and we do lot's of resin and aluminum construction. I'd also like to say the installers here did a great job installing the pool. cheers!
Above Ground Pool Builder they’d be better off leaving it dugout, put an inch of stone and leave it. Seen too many pools rust or shift in because someone tried to bury part of an above ground pool
Y cuanto cuesta un trabajado como este?
What was used to hold the pool wall up with the rope I know this is 7 years old but if someone knows please let me know
You can tie the one end to a screw driver that can be pushed in the ground and the other end that hooks to the pool wall is a double coat hanger. You can get these at Home Depot go.magik.ly/ml/225bi/
The video was great. I wish there were written instructions overlaid on video at bottom of screen and tips to explain parts of the process that could make it easier for the DIY'er. I didn't always understand your thought process. I didn't mind the music....I turned down the sound since there was really nothing to listen to!
How many people built it and how many hours did it take?
Do you need a surveyor?
I have new found respect for these guys. This is hard work....music is terrible though.
Where can I get this music?
What brand is this pool?
Step one: Get a bobcat... aaaaaand I'm out.
exactly 😂
You rent one, it's not that complicated
yeah no shit, i see all these videos of "how to" but they forget to mention the equipment like bobcats and tractors they first use!!
Fr. We are putting ours up and had to hand dig ALL of it. A 24’ foot pool 😔
@@crow-vz5lx haahahaa "How To build this in 10 easy steps
Step 1: have a $50K piece of equipment "
So at every rail connection there should be an upright beam correct? On my pool theres 11 connections but I only have 10 beams? Obviously, I'm missing a leg right or am I doing something wrong or am I just dumb🤣?
Thank you guys, thinking about getting one of these!
What about the electrical component for the pool pump?
so the most important part about the vacuum you leave out?
What kind of dolly/cart is that being used?
We actually took a regular hand truck and had a 4ft steel rod welded to the base centered and towards the front.
Beautiful back yard pool looks nice
How much did this cost? With and without labor? Great video. Thanks
Typical above ground pool is about 4-6k
Installation varies, usually about 10-12k for everything
I dont own a house....dont have land....and dont plan on installing a pool. But if I did have them....i would. Interesting vid👍
Excellent job on installation
We just put our own pool in earlier this summer. Bought from The Pool Factory over the winter, then could not find a contractor willing to install it this spring. Couldn't even get a damned quote. & What a pain in the ass it was! SO. MANY. ROCKS. So many! 😔 😔
Anyway we put those patio blocks in under the posts just like you did here, per our installation instructions. Got the pool installed, filled, everything is great, mostly.
Then I saw a video of an install & the guy said he would NEVER put blocks under the posts because of "frost heave." Showed pictures of the concrete blocks pushed up & out of the ground & the resulting wrinkled, creased, mangled pool walls the next spring. So now we're paranoid. It's not much of an issue in most southern states but we live in Southeastern Pennsylvania, which can get pretty frigid in winter. Is it something we should worry about?
where can i buy one???
What size pool is that? It's hard to gauge sizes online - they always photo-hack them by shrinking the people to make the pools seem huge. LOL.
Impressive! Looks great and looks so relaxing.
🧜♀️
What is that foam stuff you used for the corners?
Coving.
How many blocks did you use?
My instructions say 3 inches of sand, but this looked like less. How many inches of sand is necessary?
Thanks a Lot for this video that's awesome
Greeting from Tunisia 👏🏽 am gonna install one like it in my house
How much does it cost to get installed?
You didn't buy the foot bigger liner and dig bottom out more??
What kind of hand truck is that?
What kind of brand is the pool
Very well done
How thick is the rolled foam for the base?
awesome one
I am doubt whether the water will resist for long time or not
there may be chances of collapsing
Very professional work.
Great job guys, pool looks great!
