It’s so stupid that most of these lowering devices have only one strap!! You definitely want 2 straps one at the top and one at the bottom with a 1 foot space between them then she ain’t going nowhere
All this junk about cutting a grove for the device to sit?? It’s restarted! Just use 2 straps get them tight then retighten after the first few limbs have been rigged,simple
