  • Frontier Town, an abandoned wild west theme park located up in the Adirondack Region of New York. It opened in 1952 and was very popular for decades however the nineties came along with declining interest and financial troubles soon followed. Frontier Town closed its doors in 1997 / 98, and has been left to rot ever since.

Seeing things vandalized and spray painted on really pisses me off

The cage was for two black bears, Molly and Dolly who were left to die by the owners of the park when the abandoned it. Local residents kept them alive until they were rescued by a wildlife preserve in Florida where they live to this day I believe.

It was amazing how you put the sound effect in certain areas of your tour. No annoying music. Spoke professional during the filming. You did an amazing job with this tour. My only comment was with the piano. I was expecting you to push down a few keys? Anticipation left hanging.

I went to Frontier Town with my school on a Day Trip from Montreal in 1974. The price of a ticket was 1,25$ and that gave us access to a lift by bus and whole entire free tour with a lunch included. Seeing Frontier Town like this after over 40 years is like traveling in the past. Thanks. I'm really moved!! Lol!! Johnny, Montreal, Canada.

No cussing , no panning, no music. Good job. I know of an old drilling camp that ties into the Manhattan Project in Colorado. It would fit into what your doing.

I had all but forgotten about Frontier town until I saw your video. My family went there probably around 1973 so I would have been about 4 or 5 years old. Of course when we got on the train the actors robbed the train and I got very upset not realizing that it was just an act. The actors were very good about it and removed they're kerchiefs so I could see their faces and they calmed me down. Hilarious. I can't remember if it was the same day or another time we went there but we rode on the stage coach and that was robbed so I got all scared again. I also remember I had the Frontier Town brochure in my desk for many years and would occasionally look at it. Thank you very much for posting the video and rekindling some childhood memories. It's too bad that places like this fell to the Wayside in favor of all the dumb personal electronics these days. Even though this town was loosely used as the inspiration for frontierland at Disney, Frontier Town was way better then frontierland could ever be.

Great video. I remember that place in its heyday. Probably around 1969 my family vacationed up there when I was 7, 8 or 9 years old. The memories are vivid.

It really is refreshing watching your videos. You actually explore cool places and give us information about them, unlike a lot of vloggers these days who think that sidewalks count as good content. You also don't tell us about your personal problems or try to preach to us.

back in 1980 my husband and I took our honeymoon to Lake Placid NY and we visited Frontier town we even got married in that church ,by Judge Roy Beam I still have the poster he gave us and we watched a rodeo and toured all those buildings the hubby took a pic of me in a stagecoach as well as in a shed, we rode the train and there was a robbery on the train for candy and when we got off the train all our candy was there for those to pick up whom it belonged too. It is a shame that it is abandoned it was a lovely park, we even went horseback riding there too. It really makes me feel sad knowing I was there and now its gone so heartbroken :( :(

Forgot about this place until your video. My parents drove myself and my brother from NYC to this place in 1971-72. Great fun, rode the stage coach and was robbed along the way by the cowboy actors. Thanks for the fond memory.

Oh my god I went there once or twice as a kid and have seen it from the highway in its present state but since it's been closed it looks horrible. Sad to see an old landmark just rot away.

I went to Frontier Town when I was a little girl! Also, the Catskill Game Farm was a favorite place.
