    Awesome shoot... and speaking my language on the Z8. I've been loving mine.

    This lens is on my list for if I ever do more event/travel photography on Nikon - it just hits a really nice range and seems to perform great. Pretty tempted to swap in a bunch of my other lenses for it 🤔

      Agreed! It really has a nice range.

    I've been using the Sony version of this lens since the first day it was available in the US, about 2 years ago. It rarely leaves my A1 body. Great news that it was released for the Nikon Z mount. The lens is heavy and large, but extremely useful if you are not sure what focal length you might need at any given event. My favorite uses are indoor kids sports and stage performances, and small field outdoor kids sports. Grand dad stuff.

    I was super excited to get this lens. Am pretty much happy with it. As my only variable aperture lens, there was a little learning curve with low light sports. As far as travel lens… nope! Will stick with my 24-120.

    I love the reach and aperture of this. It’s tempting to replace my 24-120 Nikon lens. If I can afford both, I’d use this for portraits and events and the Nikon lens for landscape.

    A great lens no doubt. If you hand held this without any camera strap attach, it would be like a dumbell's weight after an hour....m

      The larger the lens the heavier of course. Your decision whether or not to use a strap or a tripod.

    Hi. Great videos. I've got a Z8 and considering the Tamron 35-150. Just wondered if the amount of shots in burst mode is limited. Obviously the Z8 can take upto 20 fps in RAW and a crazy 120 in J peg but heard somewhere that this lens only allows 10fps with the Z8. Is this true??

    Tested this lens its good but not Stellar, returned it, the nikon 85 1.2S and the 135 Plena still produces that kind of cinematic magical backround blur.

    • @MrSongwriter2

      Did you find with eye focus it was a bit hit and miss? I find mines focus definitely slower than the 24-120 f4 I kinda feel once it gets a firmware update to improve autofocus speed/accuracy it'll be great. I don't have the luxury of a pro model who knows exactly how to stand still and not move whilst you manually pin focus on her eye

    I want Tamron or Sigma to make an *All-in-One* 35-135mm F1.8 lens with 1:1 Macro, Outstanding Bokeh, Image Stabilization, and Image Sharpness that rivals Sony 50mm 1.2 (at F1.8) Nikon 85mm F1.2 (at F1.8) Sony 90mm (At F1.8), Sony 100mm STF (at F1.8) Nikon Z 135mm (at F1.8); and price it at around $2500. This would be a dream come true...!!!

    • @Louie_Vision

      Keep dreaming lol it's pretty much impossible to get 1.8 with that amount of zoom

    Tamron, AFAIK has sourced optical lens designs from Nikon for a long time. That's a positive in my thinking. Not sure if they still do that today. However at 2,000 Western currencies - call me Nikon snob (I'm not) - they are too expensive for me to want to buy them instead of Nikon "glass" of the "S" class in the Z mount.

    JP sorry, this lens was not solely created for Sony cameras. In 2019 there was already a release for NIKON F-Mount cameras (A043N) available. Unfortunately only with f 2.8-4 .It was on my wish-list that year.

    • @mick1967
      @mick1967 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Instead Sony with his mini E-Mount, Nikon has spent a lot of more thoughts in developping a new mount which delivers more space for a fullframe sensor for stabilisation.

    • @jpdj2715
      @jpdj2715 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@mick1967 - true, but the point here is that the sensor in the 9 and 8 have many more rows and columns outside the "effective area" that probably are used for IBIS in software. That way, IBIS in the sensor plane gets handled in the processing pipeline and does not have added latency which you would have in the case of mechanical actuators moving the sensor.
      The downside of the shortest flange distance, less the large lens mount, for owners of all other camera brands is that a Z lens cannot be adapted to the other brand. (If we ignore extreme macro)
