For me, Song So Hee is the winner for this episode. She's done marvelous job singing Spring Day. You can really feel it with your heart and soul, that's how wonderful her singing is. It's so heartbreaking yet it's so beautiful.
She’s a pansori and gugak singer so she sang it differently. :) another note for pansori is that it’s like one of the oldest way of telling stories to people. like during the old times. So it’s common for a pansori song to be about longing, an uprising or revolution. :) Anyway, if you research about sohee, she’s considered as a national treasure bc she started singing pansori at a very young age and she chose that career, even at school-til now!!! It seems Koreans have a knack for expressing the emotion of a song outside of the words. Besides that she is a gugak singer and in that type of music expressing emotion in everything (lyrics, voice, physical expression, music etc) is very important. I think that's why this song was a perfect fit for her.
This is the only cover of a BTS song for which I return every now and then... This one breaks me with so much emotions..... Her voice is way beyond words and phenomenal

The fact that us non-Korean ARMY understands each lyric & meaning by heart, made this performance full of tears for me, adding to her powerful, most heartfelt singing in Pansoori style, the stage production & sincere projections of the lyrics too.. When she repeatedly delivering ad-libs like “I Miss You”, “Snowflakes are falling down”, “I’ll go meet you” in a very soulful way i really can share the pain of whoever’s missing someone especially separated by death.. It reminds me of this Pandemic’s suffocation & frustration, also of Sewol Ferry’s saddening incident too. SPRING DAY is a QUEEN, FOREVER.

Just wait a little bit... just wait for a few days...until I go there to meet you...I'll come to get you.. " which is heartbreaking to listen, if you've lost loved ones and longing for them
wait i love how she made the rap part sounds like a poetry.....
apparently it’s something called ‘pansori’ which is a traditional korean storytelling performance where they would sing :)
@@alijoc yup it's called pansori, traditional korean storytelling, you can hear it in her beginning vocals at the end of a verse, and during the chorus it's at full blast. her dress too looks like a hanbok from afar but a classy suit from closer look
it’s lovely because the lyrics RM has written for this song are truly something else. it’s gorgeous with rap but something about the song just deserves to be read and sang like poetry. his lyrics are poetry.
Rap actually stand for rhythm and poetry
all rap is poetry lmao
The Queen of BTS songs “Spring day” is full of sadness but hopeful..but she made me cried even more the way she sang it
BTSの曲は初めて聞くし、韓国語の歌詞もその意味も全く分かりませんが、胸が震え涙が出てしまいました。
I have NEVER heard a voice like that before. Wow. Interesting stylistic choices. Well done.
It's traditional Korean way of singing
She's a traditional Korean (Minyo) singer, and this is her interpretation of a contemporary pop song.
It’s called pansori I’m learning it
For me, Song So Hee is the winner for this episode. She's done marvelous job singing Spring Day.
You can really feel it with your heart and soul, that's how wonderful her singing is.
It's so heartbreaking yet it's so beautiful.
who won in this episode?

She’s a pansori and gugak singer so she sang it differently. :)
another note for pansori is that it’s like one of the oldest way of telling stories to people.
like during the old times. So it’s common for a pansori song to be about longing, an uprising or revolution. :)
Anyway, if you research about sohee, she’s considered as a national treasure bc she started singing pansori at a very young age and she chose that career, even at school-til now!!! So basically her whole life is dedicated to pansori. :) you should watch her performances and interviews! She’s a gem! ❤️❤️❤️
@@JeaSong yeah I know her she is so cool

This version of Spring Day literally is a masterpiece. I was so mad she didn't win. Her voice is amazing, full of emotion. I never imagined that the song could be even more sad. Great performance, one of my favorite.
Who won?
When we take win or lose out of the equation, everything becomes more happy. At least more heart-touching. I.m.o.

Her voice is so gorgeous, I want this version to be played at my funeral.

Lets die together and play this😧
The fact that she put the original audio sung by the choir at the end was amazing while simultaneously singing her own version... Now that is what I call respect and admiration
BTS American Army fan. BTS version always going to be top toer for me. However, this young lady made his song her own and sang it aon beautifully. Nice to know this is traditional Korean folk version .Wpic. Greeting from America.🇺🇸🫰💜🌎

She is South Korea’s national treasure.
That singer is so talented I crying for her voice.
I'm not really familiar with pansori but the song fits her voice. This cover is so beautiful.
Isn't RM recently into pansori? Maybe they could collab O_O
Pansori is like flamenco singing....sad
So I'm learning about Pansori myself since I love the way it sounds but Pansori is a way of story telling through singing For honor, deaths, love, and tradition. I think I'm still learning so please don't come for me if I'm wrong
Just one week ago all Bts members went to military and I found this song today when I missed them. I'm crying and smiling now. I miss them but spring will come again. This song has a bigger meaning now for me
in this episode, she's the only one who manage to make me getting goosebumps the whole performance and immediately make me cry... The arrangements is so beautiful
edit : that standing ovation tho~ she totally deserves it
Same I only got goosebumps on her right away
I CAN'T BELIEVE she does not win this round! She is the first pansori singer I admired and looking forward to every cover in immortal song!!! She makes every song sound beautiful and unique.
No away! I'm ready to throw hands! If this isn't art, then what is?
DNA win. Sonnet Son and Alexa deserves too. It just this episode everyone is so good.
I heard DNA but didnt like it, this is pureness, art, how can it not win xc

@@persona_1013 I am not ARMY but I do listen to BTS song casually and this cover really giving the song a unique taste suit a LIVE performance. But I think they change the voting format due to Covid19. Can someone enlight me how they cast the voting system without the 500 audiences?
the way she literally caresses each note and conveys the emotions with them is so majestic
I first commented 3 years ago. I still keep coming back. Hands down the best BTS cover I have ever heard.
My AirPods died just as the song was ending. It’s almost as if they held out long enough to finish the song...
Or your airpods held that long to finally sob without you hearing.

Let me make a suggestion for a replacement. Get the Beyerdynamic DT 880 Pro. The most amazing cans I've ever used!
The way she sang it, it's like she's a princess who has been separated from her childhood best friend because she had to be a princess at 13 and her friend was a servant child so they can't mingle and stay friends. It's such beautiful storytelling she captured the emotion beyond well
Just give me the damn fanfiction already😭
Agree 😭
the way you described it, couldn't agree more
I'm not used to this type of singing, but damn, that was beautiful. Shows that music, no matter language or style, can hit the feels deep. Had chills throughout the performance.
To think that spring day is believed to be about the Sewol incident, and she sings it THIS beautifully. I'd be sobbing if I was in that crowd.
More a tragedy than an "incident".
This is beyond singing. This is straight storytelling through song.
Why am I crying so hard? I'm european, I'm from a whole different culture. This is heartbreaking.
Me too
Same here....it feels like she's singing requiem for the covid19 victims.
Same here😭
She sing with her soul and you can feel it💜😢
music breaks all barriers 🥺
Her version feels like wanting to see and missing someone you'll never meet again. 5:14 "Just a little bit more.." feels like she's begging to let her meet that person although it is impossible. Almost there but still can't reach him.
Exactly...
true
Your explanation made me cry 😭

Absolutely beautiful, can't help but come back again and again to listen and cry. Her voice sounds like it's crying, it's so very beautiful, I feel like I'm standing in a path filled with dancing cherry blossoms, and the weather is clear. A spring day, she brought this song to life. Hats off ❤
The song was already so heartwrenching... She just made it sound even more sad... She's talented as heck😀😀
I think everyone should understand the whole lyrics and the background of spring day to feel it 100%.
true. The song is perfectly beautiful.
@@Marmaru14 yeah the spring day music video is about that. But the song lyrics are about missing a friend it's not related to the tragedy
@@Bibi-sj8qe that’s what they are saying on the media cause at the time idols yet alone anyone was not allowed to be vocal about it cause of some political issues. And yes it’s about missing a friend, the friends the survivors lost, the friends who sat next to them in class were all gone.
@@wolfgangustheophilusmozart8155 As RM and SUGA said they wrote this song about them missing theirs frds from past. It seemed they also waited to share some sentiment with young students from the tragedy and made Music video about it to show their support. This song is beautiful itself, but in her hands it's like spiritual experience, like miracle. I'm in love with this version.
It's different with the original. But her voice and arrangements make me chills.
It's like a whole new song, if I don't watch BTS interview and know the lyrics from the heart I'm not gonna recognize this.
Sounds majestic here literally the chills as well
Her performance sent me chills as I recalled the lyrics that BTS wrote. I wish there were subtitles to get the full epicness of her rendition, because she chose certain parts of the lyrics to emphasize. The effect must be greater for the Koreans who could hear the lyrics. It's really a song that can touch you deeply.
Her voice is like an angel, so many emotions. i got enchanted.
I honestly think this is BTS' best song and various interpretations show this song is pure art. She sang it so beautifully that my eyes teared up.
She said that her younger sister is a Army and a big fan of V. Her sister would be proud of her. ^^ I like a part of "I miss you." 보고싶다. I think it's all heart of Army.
Really???
yup
Bogoshipda 💜💜💜
This just proves that music is music...you don't need to understand the words to feel what the song is saying
Agree...
It seems Koreans have a knack for expressing the emotion of a song outside of the words. Besides that she is a gugak singer and in that type of music expressing emotion in everything (lyrics, voice, physical expression, music etc) is very important. I think that's why this song was a perfect fit for her.
Right
Goosebumps every time
The youth choir like ghosts of the ferry disaster, and her voice is like a mother’s grief
This slays me
This is the only cover of a BTS song for which I return every now and then... This one breaks me with so much emotions..... Her voice is way beyond words and phenomenal
You should try to hear Fake love cover by Klang in the voice South Korea.
Colde's cover of DNA is extremely amazing, he turned it into a chill lounge modern funkish bluesy song. Kurt Hugo Schneider's cover of Blood Sweat and Tears is great too.
