I’ve been to Madison. The river is beautiful. We also found a wonderful bookstore there. My husband used to work for a moving company, and we ended up in some out of the way towns.

I completely lost it at "fine! I'll do it myself" haha. There are days I feel like that one phrase sums up my entire life haha. Loved the story as always and you seem to constantly find the most interesting out of the way places that few have even heard of. THAT is what I love! Thanks for keeping the videos coming.

    Greetings Casey:
This is merely a suggestion that I thought you might enjoy . My husband and I enjoyed it because we were kids in the '60's.
The Cowby Museum in Oklahoma City. When I was little I adored Roy and Dale but after visiting this place, it is much more high than my childhood rememberences.
This place is HUGE. I hold a great deal of memories for me.
There is this weird grasshopper season.. stay the hell away from that.
It wasn't what I would have considered a vacation but the parts I saw were exciting and fine.

Marriott should abandon the hotel and convert it into low-income housing. They can improve their tax credits with both Historic Tax Credit (HTC) and low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC). I'm sure the nearby cities with high homeless populations like Indianapolis IN, Cincinnati OH, Louisville and Lexington KY could quickly fill the apartments and Marriott could get HUGE tax write offs benefitting their bottom line and helping end homelessness in the region.

Wow .... first off .... video to short ..... I used to visit that town a couple of times a year ..... I lived on the north side of the river across from Louisville -- many years .... my husband and I would take trips to Madison and other small towns to picnic and walk around the shopping district .... we move to Ohio for his job --- that was about 40 years ago .... so this does bring back memories ..... Yes I was born and raised a Hoosier ...... most likely will not be able to visit it again .... Thanks for sharing ....... Hugs ...... Shirlene

Awesome find. I have wanted to go to this town for the waterfalls at a park there. I believe it is Clifty Falls State Park. Recently visited a neighbor town of Clarksville, IN, and it was quite quaint...on our quick trip through there. Purchased a 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser so we can get out off the beaten path and explore. I am in West KY if you get over this way.

Reply to David G. Turning the Mill into housing for the homeless and unemployed is way too expensive. Building prefab housing will provide the most housing for far less money. Not to mention these municipalities are broke. Building the hotel, provides jobs in construction and permanent jobs operating the hotel. Also buying supplies thru local venders.

I love old mill buildings and come from a place that had many.
You could have gone so much further describing the work within mill buildings.
In England they made huge profits because they employed women and children (even ‘buying’ orphans), which were paid a fraction what men could earn, and they were tied to a the job because they lived in tiny slum-like mill cottages, which were paid for with the appropriate deductions from wages.
Children as young as 3 or 4 were essential because only they were small enough to fit under the massive moving carriages, to sweep out the fluff that accumulates underneath. It could cause fires if not removed, although they often got crushed to death because they got tired during the 12 hour plus shifts.
I have learned how to shoot in a mill building converted into a gun club. It’s pretty rare in this country to have indoor shooting ranges, but it’s lovely in winter with the central heating!
Please make longer videos, there must have been other cool stuff nearby...
