Umpire Piloos Reporter from India was the culprit and he wasn't the best of the lot. He was what Steve Bucknor was in 2003. Not sure if we can generalize the fact that Umpires were partial to Whites.

Good? Was deadly. This is his retirement time. Not even half of the bowler he was from 1979 to 1983. Then he didnt bowl due to injury for 3 years.
