    This is absolutely true. When I see a modern 911, the owner can be petrolhead, can be rich boy, can be gentleman, etc. But when I see a GR Yaris, thumb up, I know the driver must love the art of driving.

      My point exactly, that's why Yaris was an easy choice for me.

    are spacers ok for use on cars? would there be safety concerns

    • @JankoLind
      @JankoLind  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would say no but please remember that I might increase the wear of the car. Engineering is made to hold loads on a specific angle.

    Spot-On with the personality discussion. Been trying to find something to help me on daily duties with a GT4 in the garage. Don’t much fancy pickups either. Nor the large SUV that everyone here in America has. A hot hatch does look intriguing. Your a Thought Leader Janko. Thanks for putting so much effort into these. Cheers from the other side of the pond!

      I agree with your comment (as expected). I do like small cars, but if you look at the "small" cars today, they are yesterdays large ones.

    Speaking of matte ppf, did you know about Satinguard? It's a PPF that is matte when viewed perpendicular but turns satin then translucent when you look at it at an angle. It's quite beautiful what it does to the curves of the car.

    Hey Janko,
    Greetings from the UK.
    Congratulations on buying a GR Yaris, I never thought that one of these would find it’s way into your garage.
    It’ll be interesting to see how it compares to the Porsche sports cars for smiles per miles.

    • @JankoLind

      I must admit, I'm excited to find out. For the record, I never thought that a Japanese car would find it in my garage either.

    Hi, congrats for the Yaris...I also thinking on ordering one...delivery April...do you have idea is it going to be just 25000 pcs. or this number could be more at the end..?

    • @JankoLind
      @JankoLind  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think they will stick to the 25 000 and then start to build the new one with a more RS-focused approach. Tests is running on Nürburring right now.

    Not a fan of black rims, but othervise a sound choice! Is it the performance pack version with triple locking diffs (i.e. non open)?

    Hi Janko, Porsche now offer full front end PPF from the factory on new orders. Would you recommend this or would you go with a local independent company? Price seems to be around the same for both…. Thoughts?

    • @JankoLind

      Compared to Autoshield in Stockholm, Porsche has a long way to go to reach a good quality.

  • @Rei_n1

    With regards to 992 touring the aerodinamic downforce is the same with fixed vs. extendable spoiler. The difference is in the additional aerodinamic drag for touring model. Just to get the facts right; though, not expecting that this could in any way affect your choices. I appreciate that there is more in your decision than just aerodinamic. Congrats on the Yaris. Should be fun at somewhat more sensible speeds and considerably smaller package which should give many more cornering options on the same old corners.

    • @JankoLind
      @JankoLind  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well, please remember that you are able to adjust the downforce with the fixed wing options wish more or less all do.

  • @MichaelM-zk7lc
    @MichaelM-zk7lc 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I think the Yaris will stay due to winter driving fun and a slower extremely well built 997 GT3 will be the next purchase. Cheers!

    • @JankoLind
      @JankoLind  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not sure I will go with the 997, perhaps a Carrera S as a daily sometimes. The 997 is the heaviest 911 all-time and that bugs me. 996 is more attractive.

    The dealers are missing a trick, they should offer top shelf PPF from the get go (not just the clear film they offer on some parts of the car). Pick up trucks are everywhere in the US, rarely see anything in the truck beds, pulling air mostly. Will be interesting to see how the EV pickups sell.

    Completely agree on the GT3 point! When we drove the alps i felt a cayman was way more at home as the 991.2 GT3 tourings we also had in our group. Sure it’s amazing and i would kill to own one, but the experience isn‘t that much better than in any other Porsche sports car. On the track its completely different 🤓

    Great choice. I agree with your comments about speed vs fun for a road car. I’m looking back for my next Porsche and struggling to decide between a nicely improved (not restomod) 964 or a 996 GT3 Clubsport. Any thoughts on these? Keep going with the content and hopefully the Yaris will help get your subscriber numbers where they deserve to be. 👍
