  • "Your men sire....would follow you to whatever end"
    We're continuing our Two Towers painting series today with Gamling and the Royal Standard of Rohan. A brave, bold and loyal companion to King Theoden, Gamling stands by his kings side no matter what the odds, fighting and giving his all in defence of his kingdom and kin.
    This sculpt is viewed as an exceedingly daunting model with complex freehand and details that test the hands of many a painter. We hope here today we've provided a comprehensive and easy to follow guide that'll give you a stunning looking Gamling you'll be proud to have on the tabletop!
    We use a variety of rich, earthy colours today to bring the vibrancy and characteristic look to the unique visuals of the Rohan Royal Guard and their kin.
    We missed last weeks video schedule as unfortunately life will do what life does but we will be returning now to our regularly scheduled Friday upload slot so you can get all your hobby fixes!
    We haven't gone through the horse painting in this specific video, but fret not you can see a comprehensive horse painting guide in our Rider of Rohan Painting tutorial which will be linked at the end of the video. As well as other horse colours portrayed in our Eomer and King Theoden painting tutorials which can all be found in our Two Towers painting guide series!
    We hope you enjoy and as always.
    Happy Hobbying!!

    Holy crap the detail and attention you paid to that banner alone is astonishing. I thought you were crazy when you did the gold trim, shit was jaw dropping how precise you were. Then you painted that beautiful artsy horse on there. Genuinely this is a great tutorial and you are an expert painter to be sure

    Your painting skills are amazing! You’ve inspired me to get back into painting my Lord of the rings miniatures, thank you. A massive request for me would be for you to cover painting and Balins tomb cave troll and some Ring Wraiths. Thanks in advance if you can do this!

      You really are far too kind with your lovely words there my friend, I'm glad to have been of some help! Ringwraiths are already filmed and cave troll wont be far behind!

    I am always surprised that you completely finish a part of the figure before painting another one 🤔 usually we paint base Colors before highlights because if you missed something or paint over the first color you can repair your mistakes ☺️
    But anyway you are a master painter 👍 your miniature is amazing 🤩

    • @PlanetMithril
      @PlanetMithril  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are far far too kind! Thank you! honestly we've kind of flipped between the 2 styles, now we do base colours and build up from there but fascinating to hear how other painters tackle models!

    Hard to tell on this video and I may have missed it, but there are bits coming out from beneath the helmet look like fabric flaps. Did you paint those? And if so, what colours did you use?

    • @PlanetMithril
      @PlanetMithril  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think we treated all the helmet flaps as chainmail as we couldnt quite work it out either lol

    Hello! Is it that you have more layers and washes on this compared to the riders of Rohan because its a hero?

    • @PlanetMithril
      @PlanetMithril  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes indeed it is, the heroes and centre pieces benefit more from more interim layers and highlights IMO
