Loved how Bet sacked her, just goes to show the writing and storylines were so strong back then that the show didn't need the big stunts and serial killers to get the viewers. The Carolyn Reynolds '90s era produced some of the best scenes in Corrie's History.

Talking to Ken through a crack in the door while clutching her pink, passion killer old lady's dressing gown tight shut was just ghastly in the extreme. The fact she had put her specs back on was even more cringey. I just thank god she wasn't wearing lingerie...
What matters most to Gail is control - over everyone. It's why she's such a shitty mother. The minute Nicky enters the "difficult years" of pre- adolescence, where he challenges her authority, she loses her temper repeatedly and lashes out at him even tho' she's supposed to be a mature adult. Same thing whenever Martin challenges her. It was the same thing with Brian - she could never stand losing control. And she certainly can't accept any advice because it only highlights her shortcomings and makes her defensive.
Charlie leaving with Tanya was silly. He was clearly into Bet because of his obsession with country music and Dolly Parton. Tanya was a pretty face but a dreary, dull and spiteful person. What a mismatch.
