As far as what Trump did as he was being taken away, I'm not sure it was all about the optics. IDK what he was thinking but he looked to me like he was pissed off. Also he knew he'd been shot, didn't know how badly, adrenaline pumping, and his voter base watching it all play out, horrified. Entirely possible that he wanted to connect with his people and leave with a positive attitude

Anyone who wants a true assessment of what happened, should be watching former SS agent Dan Bongino. His analysis of this is brutally honest. He's been saying that Trump's team had been asking for more protection for weeks because of increased credible threats and he hadn't been provided with a full detail to begin with but the SS director and DHS have continually denied it. Bongino is calling for the people who were supposed to be in charge of all of this, to resign immediately.
This woman clearly did not do her homework because she didn't know multiple key details of what happened. She didn't know that those witnesses had spoken directly with both local law enforcement and with SS agents before the first S*0T was taken. She didn't know that right before they lifted Trump to move him off the stage, an officer or agent on the ground had told them that the threat had been neutralized. There are several things that she should have been aware of, if she'd just studied a few of the videos that most of us have seen, before appearing on this show.

Any vantage point within 150 meters of the stage should have had LEO presence, at a minimum. This person must have been the coffee attendant with the SS, because she is babbling for the most part.

The witness said he and his friends told an officer 3 minutes before he fired and the officer climbed up there only to back down when the guy pointed the rifle at him which caused the gunman to then open fire. That is probably the only reason the guy missed Trump(for the most part). They also were gesturing to the snipers perched on the barns. After JFK every rooftop should be monitored. I just assumed this was now protocol. Why have a secret service if we are just going to rely on local cops? I think it is time for a private security to safe guard our leaders.
Because the Secret Service is not large and ex-presidents do not usually need more than one or two agents total.

And now times of India has put out footage that shows Secret Service did indeed seem to respond. There were several Secret Service agents that were crouching down and moving into different positions right before the shots rang out.

So I guess multiple sources within the secret service said that the rules for engagement in these situations is to not fire until the president has been fired upon. Which just sounds completely stupid to me.

On the subject of the photographers /papparazzi -- we all complain about how they jump in there and take pictures and seem to be invading privacy, but one of those guys got that absolutely iconic shot of President Trump with the flag behind him raising his fist in the air in defiance of what has just happened to him, with blood running down his face. That photograph is inspiring millions. And that was taken by a photographer who ran up there and got himself into the right position. A photographer who was doing his job.

I'm baffled as to why photographers were not immediately pushed back and could even get that close in the first place. They didn't know who the person was or if there was more than one. This whole thing defies logic.

I found her explanation pretty clear - acknowledges the buildings were close, says they were likely checked and that the shooter could have taken position afterwards, also acknowledges things like budget and the problem with the outdoors and a potential second shooter.

Just wanted to say, I am 57 years old. My life started when LBJ was President and in my life we have had Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George H. Bush, Obama, Trump and Biden. During that same period in 1968 RFK Sr. candidate was assassinated, in 1972 George McGovern candidate was shot and crippled, in 1975 President Ford survived an assassination attempt unharmed in 1981 President Reagan was injured along with several others and not President Trump Candidate was injured along with two others and one innocent man lost his life. This is an unacceptable level of political violence.

I read, maybe on Daily Wire, about a woman who lives right next to that building. The assassin went from roof to roof to get there. Also she said that neither she nor any of her neighbors had been contacted by anyone about security. And AP reported that a local police officer climbed a ladder to confront the shooter but retreated when the rifle was aimed at him. SMDH
DEI might’ve sounded like a good idea to some at the time but in reality and across various industries in different countries it’s failing colossally.

Actually I read the mother is a Democrat and the father is a Libertarian. Regardless, a former classmate that was interviewed said that in a history class where policy questions were asked and students in the class had to pick a side to show whether they supported or opposed a position, he would basically always choose the conservative stance.

a man gave an interview to BBC on site after the incident... he stated that he saw the guy setting up with guns on the roof (it's very easy to see up on the roof as it's only 1 story high and has a large field of view around it). He alerted both the police on site AND the Secret Service about the guy and they ignored it and didn't go check on it... even though that building had a clear line of site to the stage... and they didn't have ANY people on that building??? why not?? there were only like 5 buildings within shooting range of that stage...
ALSO, there were Secret Service snippers on the roof behind Trump, that WATCHED the shooter setting up and aiming at Trump, but DID NOTHING UNTIL AFTER the shooting started.. the shooter got 4 shots off before they killed him with ONE shot.... their ONE job was to take out threats BEFORE it happens, yet they did NOTHING while the guy was setting up and was aiming at Trump.. and only fired at the shooter fired first... which he fired SEVERAL shots before they killed him... WHY DID THEY WAIT??? they could clearly see him... they were even facing him so he was easily in their line of sight... it's making it seem like the Secret Service was in on it... but since Trump wasn't actually killed, they had to take down the shooter.. or maybe they would have killed him anyways because he was a patsy for them to kill Trump....

No, it was abysmal. The highest structure in the area was a water tower that was unguarded. There were 10 other structures unguarded. The Secret Service Snipers set up on the lowest building available directly behind the podium. Rally goers saw the gun men and were shouting and pointing at him. They yelled gun, he's got a gun and started yelling to the police and secret service. It was at least a moment or 2 before shots rang out. What protective sniper unit sets up on the lower structure leaving the higher point. What secret service team leaves their charge out in the open while they figure it out?

1) How'd the shooter get on the roof without being noticed
2) a roof that close to the event how was nobody on there
3) there's a report from the associated press saying that an officer actually went up there on a report that there was somebody on the route the guy pointed his gun at him and instead of doing anything the cop ran away and then supposedly called the secret service who then did nothing
4) how did the shooter know that roof was going to be unprotected
More information has since emerged to show that secret service was moving into place prior to shots being fired. Also, the sniper you were questioning, asking how he didn’t see him, said he had the shooter in his scope 2 mins prior, but was told not to shoot (which I’d like to know exactly why) - it appears they were trying to apprehend him. I know policy dictates that once shots are fired, they don’t take you into custody, you’re put down. It is possible they wanted to apprehend him before he took shots, and I can understand that, but that still seems so risky.
An officer did listen to the crowd telling him that there was a man with a rifle on a roof & not only relayed the message, but also climbed up onto said roof, but then backed down when the rifle was pointed at him. Right after, the shooting happened, which is probably why the aim was so bad; the shooter knew he’d been had at that point.
Either way, him getting there definitely seems like a failure. Also, one thing this former secret service lady mentioned was negotiations - President Trump’s team had been requesting increased Secret Service presence due to recent credible threats, but the request were repeatedly denied. Just some things to add since this video was made. I’m sure we will continue to find out more as the investigation unfolds and time goes on.
