My 2022 HS PHEV Exclusive has virtually everything this has but also has a panoramic sun roof. The new phev with 75 miles range is a great upgrade. Currently mine has a 35 mile range. So that’s a great improvement.
MG have really taken up a notch ...this new model is stunning ...i have a 2024 outgoing HS Trophy manual and i love it ...this one will sell like hotcakes here in the uk im sure ....great review
I have Peugeot 3008 gt premium 2022 plug in hibrid 26k miles, 4 wheel drive 3000 BHP. Love this car but very expensive to run road tax £600 car over 40k. Warranty runs out Feb 2025. Could go down the route of buying a warranty, subscription to many features. Need 4 new tyres 2nd set lasts about 12k. Just got a MG ZS ev very cheap from a main dealership 4 years old 28k in mint conduction. 8k price, bargain. It is what it is. It gteat for a second car, wouldn't want it as my daily driver. How ever this new MG HS look stunning and pug in hibrid dose up to 75 miles on a good day. Test drive soon.

When I found out how cheap that is I was shocked for all the features it packs like the safety ones, thepanoramic sunroof, decent boot capacity. For me, the value is insane. As for the HS, yeah, I love it. More expensive, but more of everything as well. It sits in pole for our next car.
Cheaper and easier to be engineered. Almost same smooth Amt , less friction ...so better MPG's. Talking about DCT made by MG, it's better than previous version as it's oil bath Dct
AMT? As in Automated Manual Transmissions? Drive a DCT then a AMT back to back and you’ll see why in fact most manufacturers use DCT or DCT derivatives
@@123silentassassin I might be using wrong term here. I got Camry and it got 6 speed automatic transmission. The problem with DCT i read is that it gets hot quickly if we drive in traffic situation and crawls.
I currently own a 2023 MG HS Trophy, and while I’m generally pleased with it, there are a few drawbacks I've noticed compared to the previous model: The older model featured real exhaust tailpipes that looked fantastic; I’m not sure why they decided to remove them. I do appreciate the larger boot, as the previous model’s was quite small. The outgoing model had storage area and cup holders in the rear center console, however this one only has cup holders. They also eliminated the cool box from the center console, which is a disappointing change. Aside from these points, everything else is perfect.
Excellent review. Do we have any info on the upcoming hybrid+ version? Will it be powered from the same 1,5 100hp ice (seems underpowered for a full sized suv) or we gonna see an upgraded version like the one used in the phev variant?
Do you know if the Hybrid+ from MG3 will be any stronger when implemented in the HS? I'm afraid that in such a big car, when the battery runs dry, the ~100 KM of petrol power will just not be enough to comfortably cruise on a highway. It'd be perfrect if they implemented the Hybrid+ system with a turbo, which would make the petrol engine around 140-150 KM. That would definitely work in the HS.
How can it do remote heating if three is no electric heater as you mentioned the engine has to run to produce heat ? When is the PHEV available to order? Thanks Also will it have vehicle to load too ?

No, just a PHEV version, followed by a Hybrid+ model in early 2025. However, MG does have a new ZS EV replacement due soon, as well as a larger EV SUV (Marvel-R perhaps) due in 2025 too.
Why are so many new cars still not equipped with wireless CarPlay? But then they give you a wireless charger - what’s the point? And why have MG done away with their Panoramic roof on top models?
Tethered connection gives you better quality. MG is ready to switch if demand, demands. Sunroof weighs a lot more. Poorer fuel economy and water leaks are a headache.

Everyone goes on about the incredible value. But what about reliability and durability of the build and the component parts 3-4-5 years down the track?
I’ve never been a huge fan of crossovers, but after driving the MG One, MG HS, and MG ZS a few times, I’ve got to admit they’re pretty appealing. Now, choosing between the MG HS and the Mitsubishi Outlander is turning into a real challenge.
Would like to see you drive it in crawling bumper to bumper traffic, the 7 speed Dct is Horrible in heavy traffic and trying to reverse smoothly up hilly driveways.

@@MarthaMansbridge I drive my Octavia IV on 80% only electric so a heat pump is very important for me the way I drive a PHEV. Also it´s very nice to be able to cool the car before you should use it in the summer. So you can loose your sarkasm, there is people that can use a PHEV the right way

I also hate that every country outside the UK gets sunroof with this car, but we don't. I suspect the luxury car tax threshold is a factor in the UK. MG might have tried to keep the price below the threshold by excluding the sunroof? Edit: The threshold is 40K, so probably this does not explain.
Nah the truth is microchips and cost if you have a sunroof on most cars not starting price is £999 extra, takes extra months to build so you wait forever.

I understand the damage is usually extensive, and some users claim the warranty did not cover their repairs. So, there are many different explanations why the sunroof was excluded in the UK.
37mpg? That's thirsty which is a shame cause I like the car, my wife's 8 speed auto 1.5 diesel grandland averages 54mpg, and easily gets 60+mpg on motorway speeds.

Why would they have a wireless charging pad when the Android Auto and Apple Car Play are wired anyway? I'm surprised the 2025 doesn't have wireless. They should have either updated and use wireless connection or used that charging zone for extra storage.
1.5Petrol dct version is a 50mph car as mpg is47mpg drive at 70mph and it’s 30mpg gear box is crap aswell when at junctions it selects wrong and when u accelerate it struggles to move leaving you hanging

Road tax is £190 (post 2017, all cars, under £40k). First registration cost is £0 (due to 75 miles EV range).

Mg can make any new car look better, feel better, maybe even drive better but they are blighted by a terrible service network in the Uk.

There are two options for the drive train currently: 6-speed manual or 7-speed wet clutch DCT. The PHEV version is coming soon.

For gentle cars, get Dacia, full accelerations give you a wheelchair feeling. Though, I do not think MG is any closer to Urus.

This NEW HS car has a NEW Dct in oil bath. NEW software engineered...So better transmission response , no struggles.
