I drove beach yesterday from Bob Hall Pier to PINS. The water at BHP was stained and dirty, cleaned up dramatically by mile 0 on PINS. I think the dirty water was coming out of Packery Channel

Nick I noticed the beach. There is not much beach to drive at high tide. Wasn't like that in the 60's and 70's.

Since the tropical storm a couple of months ago we lost three foot of beach hight and 15 to 20ft of dune line. Beach is OK for driving when we have a high pressure over us but it does narrow quickly when low pressure is over us.

Thanks Nick. Any recommendations, beyond staying out of water, for dealing with those stingrays. Read about some resistant boots but not sure how resistant or practical. Figured you would have some real life feedback from fishermen who use those.

Is it appropriate to use 15lb mono main line down there on PINS? I’m throwing 3-5 oz with a Daiwa Seagate 20 on an old 11’ rod. I could bump up to 20 lb. But I like the cast ability of the thinner mono. What say the experts?

15lb is fine with a good shock leader. It needs to be 30 ft long, and with the weights you're throwing, 50lb minimum. Go get 'em, mate.
