    I hope you enjoy this "weird" creepy/funny, mildly subversive and magical story from 1938. If you enjoy the recordings I produce, please leave a LIKE and a COMMENT (it helps the channel grow). If you've just found me, SUBSCRIBE and never miss a story. If you can, SHARE or tell a friend about me. If you really appreciate the hard work I put in to these narrations, check the description for info about supporting the show on Patreon. Thanks awfully.

    Yes, this WAS weird but very cleverly done; it had a dream-like fuzziness to it, with the small details popping into significance as they do in dreams. The arrangement of sweets on the plate for the party, and the spider with five legs.
    Sheer genius putting the anxiety inducing strings in there!
    I sometimes think how amazing it would be if these authors could have heard their stories turned into wonderful productions such as these.❤

    I looked up Mary Butts on Wikipedia and she was an extremely interesting person. She even studied with Aleister Crowley and co-authored a book with him. In this story, it is amazing how she took essentially nothing and made it repugnant and creepy.

    This is so packed with so much beautiful language and I loved it so much that I’ve come back for a second listen and you always hear stuff that you never heard the first time. When we watch something like a movie, we only take in about 20% of it! I read that somewhere, somewhere reliable it was!! Seriously! So the subconscious mind gets it all but the conscious mind misses a lot! I’m so glad I did, because I enjoyed this one so much! This is a work of art! And there is so much packed into that thirty something minutes! I watch so much spiritual stuff so I have to and Feed my Dark-side, just so I don’t become unbalanced! LOL! That is my excuse Jasper, and I’m sticking to it!😉

    What did that old brother and sister do??????

    • @EnCryptedHorror
      @EnCryptedHorror  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's all very...odd, isn't it? The story is interested in gender, and I wonder if maybe there might even be a suggestion that the brother and sister were one and the same. Then I wondered if the two sisters didn't somehow "magic up" the local legend when they cast their rune...

    • @stephensinclair3771
      @stephensinclair3771 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@EnCryptedHorror full on high brow "femanist critique" lol might be that the sisters called up the sacred none empirical none Appolonian sacred feminine spiritual principle and it kind of ran wild (need a stiff drink after thinking that up). But....there's the stuff about the old brother and sister. There's (I agree 👍 💯 with you) subversive hints that their one and the same. Androgynous. Know anything about the occult and the implications are obvious (all that stuff about Adam and Eve originally being somehow "joined" in Jewish mysticism comes to mind).
      Anyway it's a great story and somehow manages to achieve what Mr Poe would have called "unity of effect".
      Thanks again.

    This definitely deserves even a third listen because the background music the piano that’s playing, I didn’t notice that before, I was aware of it but mostly subconsciously. All of these stories are worth at least a second lesson but this one- the literature is so beautifully expressed and it’s so poetic and beautifully read and the best thing about your stories is you know exactly what music suits the story, even the picture with the ruins which I know From my interest in Wicca, Are completely accurate! Jasper I don’t think you realise how good you are! You are a genius! We get so much value for so little and I am going to buy you a coffee, seriously that was a joke about meeting you at Starbucks! Because you deserve it! I want to thank you sincerely for all the effort you put in with sound effects et cetera! You are a perfectionist but not in a negative way because to be a perfectionist is not actually a compliment, it comes from feeling a lack of self-worth and overcompensation and that’s not what I mean! You’ve got it just right! It’s become accepted to say you’re a perfectionist and it’s meant as you get it perfect! And I’m not at all embarrassed by expressing how I feel because this is how I feel, genuinely! It’s rare to come across such good quality in a TH-cam channel! You give us escapism from sometimes difficult periods in our lives like, for me, I am going through the first death in my family... So this helps more than you know! I know I sound like a bloody stalker..... I will leave you alone now in peace ✌️ oh! And I’ve just noticed - I forgot to tell you the bird song in the background! I didn’t hear that the first or second time! Obviously the bird song at the end everyone hears but there is some in the beginning also which proves that theory that every time you watch a movie you will see something you’ve never seen before. I went on a seminar about something called unconscious attention. Like when you’re learning to drive you have to pay attention to what you’re doing and eventually you get to the stage where you do it automatically.So you can listen to music or have a conversation and you’re driving in a state of unconscious in attention! The “Guru“ Who does very expensive seminars 2 Of which I went to in Monaco at le Meridien hotel which has a view of the famous racecourse for cars and a third one in Marbella in the Costa Romano hotel which is one of the best hotels in the world, it was fabulous, Thank God my father paid because altogether the three seminars came to €1 million! That’s why the Irish press call it a cult! They have a Belief that money is evil! The whole point about charging so much is that instead of going to a seminar that you don’t pay a lot of money for them you don’t study the material afterwards but if you do pay extortionate amounts to study it then you will do the work! And for your effort you gain The best gift the universe has to offer! Yourself... Your higher SELF! And the ability to read auras, The connection seminar was €63,000 gives you the ability to ask a question regarding your life, not other peoples, That is none of your business, and get a yes or no answer! Should I buy this house? Should I move to New York? Questions like this and in rare circumstances, Your spirit will give you permission to ask a question on behalf of somebody else however if you abuse this ability you can lose the connection. That was called the MindMaster seminar..... to this day if I look at a tree I can see the energy surrounding it! When you focus on it or concentrate, if you concentrate on anything it causes information to appear in consciousness! So prayer is fine you speak to the intelligent energy that designed the universe because it couldn’t be an accident because everything comes from something else. And meditation is for you listen to the answer from that intelligence that creates this universe! Think about it if you look at a book, The pictures on the book, The ink, the words that make sense with the apostrophes and commas et cetera didn’t just fall out of the sky like atheists believe this planet is a rock and we are just lumps of meat walking around on it! But where did it come from? DNA is a blueprint for life and there are several Life forms. If there wasn’t any intelligence behind this DNA, that’s like saying a program for a computer or a book had no intelligence behind it because how can something come from nothing because if it is nothing then it’s impossible for anything to come from it! Does that not make sense?? Something cannot come from nothing! So 15 billion years ago we created the Big Bang so that we could come forth and experience different emotions because how do you know Joy, ecstasy, enthusiasm or inspiration unless you have felt despair or pain because everything has an opposite. So when we die we experience joy beyond our wildest imaginings! I prefer to call NDEs Near life experiences because we are much more dead ☠️ While we are here in the physical body within limitations of the human brain! What people call the subconscious or superconscious mind is the part of us that is Eternal! If it was not for my near death experience, I Dread to think what would have become of my life! I would probably have died from a drug overdose. Caused my mother loss and suffering and instead I am live in heaven on Earth! I have awakened and it is much better than any drug that had been invented until the time of my NDE! Maybe somebody will read this and it will make them think. That’s why I’m not going to delete it even though I promised I would never write long messages again!🤷‍♀️
