The US Marines hymn “ to the shores of Tripoli “

    • @kentnordland5034
      @kentnordland5034 3 ปีที่แล้ว

The Marines hymn is chronologically inaccurate. The war with Tripoli occurred in 1812. Our Marines went to the Mexican War in 1847. Thirty-five years later! The Marine Hymn is one of my favorite martial works. I think "Panzer Lied" is my number two.

My only objection is that the author knocks John Adams. it is true that Adams and Jefferson became at odds with each other, but in their later years, they mended the breach. They remained true friends until death. Both died on the same day, July 4th, on the 5o year anniversary of their Declaration. Jefferson was known as the pen of America's Revolution, but it was Adams who was known as its voice. Also, it was John Adams who was the only founder who refesed to own slaves as a matter of ethics.

From the Treaty of Tripoli, that ended the Barbary Wars:
"As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquility, of Mussulmen (Muslims); and as the said States never entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mahometan (Mohammedan) nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries."

They wrote a whole book on their European historical whitewashing lies---the so called "Barbary" are the term they used for the European born and expelled Moors, Africans, Jews and Muslims, who were still seething from the expulsions from Europe, that they literally took-over the entire Mediterranean sea board and parts of the coastal Atlantic, as restitution ---on the other hand the reconquista, had already metastasized into full board conquest, SLAVERY and colonialism, and that was the backdrop of the so called treaty of Tripoli...

I just got the book. It's great. What I hadn't expected was how pleasant it is to read. By page 9 I was hooked. Hey Brian GREAT BOOK. I would suggest that the next topic you attack is the FIRST CRUSADE. I'd do it from the point of view of the Norman Princes from Normandy and Sicily. In his speech calling for a crusade Pope Urbane describes how the Muslim tortured their Christian male and female prisoners. It is EXACTLY how ISIS is treating their prisoners today. Great job, Doc PS: I know that you feel that Megyn fairly dealt with Trump during the first debate. As you know 22 million Americans (75 percent of Fox's audience disagrees with you.) Poor Megyn viewership dropped from when she was beating O'Reilly pre debate to third place now. Sadly she will never reach her full potential because she was fair and balanced. I understand how your hatred isn't directed at Trump but rather at the 70% of your audience that is conservative. As you know the Republican budget stabbed conservatives in the back for the twentieth time in the row. Be a man and tell your audience that not only is McCain right, your viewers are Crazy Hobbits but stupid pigs as well. We understand your hatred of we conservatives. We have been drenched in the hatred of leftist pigs for 30 years.

We know the problem, WHAT IS THE SOLUTION?!
DENOUNCE AND/OR RENOUNCE muhammad verbally AND in writing.
Deport or deny entry to 100% of muslims who refuse to do so.
Protect those that do to the full extent of the law and beyond.
100% of muslims put forehead to ground 5 times a day and chant: " ...I swear and testify that muhammad is the last messenger" Thus, the muslim allegiance is to muhammad, NOT the host country.
100% of refugees bring nothing, except muhammad, the very source of their misery, pain and suffering.
Exterminate, obliterate, extinguish, destroy, remove muhammad from a muslim's brain, and you will discover a decent person

The guy writes a book about some amazing and extraordinary men...
...and some asshole robs them of all credit by invoking the hand of the lord...
Can we please recognize the achievements of men without having to kowtow to the celestial Dear Leader?
Also, might I point out that the entire justification for the Islamists to enslave our people was the celestial Dear Leader?

There were actually 3 that went to meet the ambassador of Tripoli ( Sidi Haji Abdul Rahman Adja. ) The one you forgot is my 1st cousin 9 times removed Benjamin Franklin. Why were they meeting him? to pay the jizia is why. It was not 20 % though, it was much less. Jefferson refused to pay 20 % Barbary pirates yes but why not call them what they were muslims baby. How did we get white pirate's there plundering and stealing if it was muslims. white men who were predisposed to stealing said the shahada (sp) and became muslims.

"Jefferson read the Koran and said it's not in there for you to do this"
Citation needed! Havn't you read the Qu'ran? Just read Sura 9.
20% of our economy at the time!? No, more like 20% of the government budget. Citation needed.
In a letter to the Congress, Thomas Jefferson and John Adams on their meeting with the Ambassador to Tripoli:
"The Ambassador answered us that it was founded on the Laws of their Prophet,1 that it was written in their Koran, that all nations who should not have acknowledged their authority were sinners, that it was their right and duty to make war upon them wherever they could be found, and to make slaves of all they could take as Prisoners, and that every Musselman who should be slain in battle was sure to go to Paradise.
That it was a law that the first who boarded an Enemy’s Vessell should have one slave, more than his share with the rest, which operated as an incentive to the most desperate Valour and Enterprise, that it was the Practice of their Corsairs to bear down upon a ship, for each sailor to take a dagger in each hand and another in his mouth, and leap on board, which so terrified their Enemies that very few ever stood against them, that he verily believed the Devil assisted his Countrymen, for they were almost always successful. We took time to consider and promised an answer, but we can give him no other, than that the demands exceed our Expectations, and that of Congress, so much that we can proceed no further without fresh instructions." - founders.archives.gov/documents/Jefferson/01-09-02-0315

Do that. Imagine the majority not being given a metaphysical rationale to do good to fellow man. Imagine what paradigm would emerge as a counter to tyrannical rule and oppression.. Imagine that instead of humans feeling restrictions would not be based on a supreme deity but instead based on exactly what? What some local or national or world leader decides? What some oligarch or any other human seeking power decides? What other source would otherwise provide a set of stories to teach people where to start.. Goldenbook? Disney? haha. Yeah, imagine no religion.
