A grey area the distinction twixt trains and trams but maybe it more to do with the track than the actual vehicles.I have noticed that tramways have much tighter curves than railways and junctions that are much shorter than equivalent rail junctions.However with the advent of train trams it gets a lot more complicated!

Several years ago, walked from Tirano to Campocologno to catch the first train of the morning to Sankt Moritz. Quiz: who was on the border, Italy side and Switzerland side?
From Sondrio to Tirano (ex FAV railway station) I traveled on board a fabulous FIAT ALn 556. In Tirano there were still the four three-phase E440s of the legendary FAV (currently one is in the Pietrarsa railway museum).
