- Baby elephant rescue action in Tsavo National Park, Kenya.
Due to a waterwhole without a step, a cute baby elephant is hold captive and its mother cannot take her out. Help is needed from David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust - and they bring it to a very happy end.

Very, very touching. First when she desperately tries to help her baby out, by kicking away the sand and dirt. Then, after being driven away, how she runs to her baby to comfort it. Very touching.
Yes very touching 🤮Yay! Absolutely I know it's awesome fit fundraising especially from un educated western suckers . The truth is this is meddling with mother nature and how she keeps the population controlled and things in balance. These aren't kittens or puppies these are enormous animals that are cute as babies but grow up to need a ton of food , water, and resources. They are in direct competition with us humans f or resources. So please try to stretch the capacity of your brain beyond the simple. Maybe you won't cheer so loud.

Mum seemed to thank the people after reuniting with her little one. Poor baby looked disoriented but mum was there waiting for her previous offspring.

I held my breath until the Mother came back to get her baby! Elephants are such wonderful creatures that I really did not think that the Mother was going to abandon her little one. Not their nature. Wonderful video. Thanks to that great team who helped out.

When she was kicking dirt to make a ramp ..wow..how smart they are... Reminded me of the story of the farmer whose old donkey fell in the well.. And considering it a lost cause..the farmer throws dirt in to bury the poor beast and put it out of misery ...but the old donkey..ever persevering...keeps "stepping up" onto each shovelful of dirt ..until the farmer has filled the well...and the donkey steps out to freedom! ..never lose hope!

@@RLaraMoore I beg to politely differ, had she been ramp building you'd have seen her kicking/moving earth into the pit, she didnt, she just kicked/dragged earth out of frustration, desperation. Elephants have on occasion been observed using tools, but not in the context applied here. Just an opinion

I've not worked directly with elephants...well just one..long ago .
But i did work with animals as my occupation and did some study in behavior. I read her differently, and have observed ellies digging for water, and also assisting calves on steep slopes. This reminds me of that. I do agree with you, she is also showing much frustration through out the event.

I've watched a number of these videos, and it' amazing that these animals seem to use logic.
If something doesn't work from one angle, they know enough to try from another angle, using their trunks legs to push and pull the little one to safety.

Admit that the baby elephant was not caught without possibility of getting out of the hole that happened to him in the middle of his legs! He could have managed with his mother at his side. I think the little baby elephant could have put his front legs on the edge of the hole, which was not very hollow, and with the help of his mother behind him to push him out gently, he would have gone out without too much of difficulty. Finally, it's my humble opinion. But hey, considering that there was a team not far away, their help was welcome, so congratulations.
