you can do calculated shipping without pre-boxing. A receiver is going to be 22 x 18 X 10. you can just measure it and imagine the size without the box actually being there. then you weigh it and add about 3-4lbs for box and foam / protection. you can do calculated shipping on everything even with 2k items. its really easy.
This is how I have been doing shipping. I have a scale and I measure the item. I will pre-box an item if it is an unusual size. I have mentioned before that the shipping gives me the most anxiety but I’m getting over it… some.

I dropped my eBay store to 40% off to move product. Obviously sales skyrocketed but I was able to move stale items. My margins are high so I’m ok with discounting my inventory for now.
4th quarter 2024 $63k. 4th quarter 2023 $73k. That is a 14% decline. Sold 751 items and 764 items respectively. It was not a good quarter for me on Ebay. I did stop selling crystal and china this year so that may account for the difference in sales and income.
careful on those particular squeezbox radios, I sold two in 2024, one buyer never said anything, other complained that logitech server for this no longer supported and unusable, did some research and that is the case. Can mod them to work but seems like extra effort, guessing first buyer knew and did that, other one had no interest and returned it. I messed with it more when I got back and realized why an issue, just donated it.
I almost always accept offers. I just had one that was $5 less than my price. I gotta admit that I thought it was unreasonable. I made a counter offer and then the person made another offer for $1 less than my offer. I got annoyed but sat on it for a few hours. My husband and I had a chuckle over EBay shenanigans and I decided to accept the offer even though I thought it was petty. At that point I get a message asking if my original counter offer was still good, that she would accept it. And, I sold it to her at the price she wanted. Why not? She came back to my price but she obviously really wanted the item.

There are certifications that building inspectors- or fire inspectors, need those make great references many times those courses test can be taken open book.. Coastline Community College in Orange County has some great programs for certification... in Los Angeles you will never get a job unless you have somebody that you know... much better chances in Orange County... you would be amazed at the price of that book new...
I think you hit on something that i was thinking as well..not to be political, but i think most buyers have a bit more confidence with spending that Trump won overall...i live in Miami Florida and the restaurants are packed, as before election they were not. The malls were packed as well , as from previous couple years they were not...2023 December sales were 6200 dollars on ebay, this last December 2024 they were a little over 9000 dollars...eyes and sales surge dont lie..even this month im way up compared to the last few January's..just a thought.

If your son sells a lot of military items have him try picking up hunting clothing and camping equipment.
He has sold that too. just shows how much an area is what you will find. Military town then the odds of finding military jumps.
