alot of people butt hurt about taking fish out of a big body of water, if your not taking big ones or limiting out i tihink its fine. No one should feel bad for taking fish to eat when its their legal rights. poeple need to stop judging and learn to be educated. Personally i dont take as much as i did back when i wave very young fisherman. Once in a blue moon ill take some for my parents and thats about it 1 or 2. Bluegills, crappie, trout, stripers, salmon, sturgeon, steel head there are wide species list to eat from and are abundant of them if you know where to look. Keep fishing brother dont let them hatters get to ya, if anything keep them on watching cuz thats good.

It's common practice to catch and release of non stocked game fish like bass. If we don't take care of our fisheries, the fishing will go downhill in the future. Lakes and ponds can get fished out quickly if everyone had the mindset of keeping everything that is caught. Even keeping trophy sized stripers is often looked down upon by the sport fishing community. Why? Because it takes many years for these fish to reach trophy sizes and when they are removed from the system they are gone and aren't restocked like rainbow trout.
If everyone had a keep everything that is within limit mentality, guess what sizes will be the most common? The barley legal ones that have to be thrown back. Most of the larger fish will eventually be gone with enough people removing them day after day.
I agree with the poster above that a bass fishing channel won't grow very much if the bass are constantly being kept. If you are passionate about fishing, think about conservation and how it impacts a fishery. Want those rare trophy sized fish to be more plentiful for years to come not only for us but for future generations? Consider C&R.

I see your wearing chest waders with a belt, smart move. The belt traps air in the waders and keeps water out. No chance of sinking unless chest waders tear. Duck hunters know this. Good content. I grew up eating salmon and trout and bass never appealed to me. Taking a few will not hurt the population. Especially spots. They over populate and ruin the smallmouth and largemouth fisheries.

I’m no one to judge but I hope you don’t keep the big ones. Taking the 1.5-2.0lb range actually helps the bigger fish

Keep the 12-14" spots. Those damn bass over populate lakes with dinks. Culling them will give more opportunity for some to get bigger. I used to not keep any bass but started taking spots this year.
