I've had a horse do that to me, but he leaned into it, putting his weight on my boot. Not fun, despite being a riding boot!
I like how they don't yell at 'older people' or children but either tell them not to get too close or gently push them away!

That guy at the end of the video was so sweet and funny towards the children, it’s nice that he acknowledges that some just don’t know any better (when it comes to respect) and decided to do an innocent joke on them :))
Definitely shows that these guards do have a fun side and a heart and aren't just there to yell at people.

Subscribed. Just wanted to say I admire the British for their toughness and dedication. I’ve worked with a lot of police, had two navy seals as friends. Trained martial arts with some great people. Just really respect these guards for their dedication and professionalism. Thank you for sharing these videos.

People are so selfish nowadays. They don't care about tradition and have no respect. All they want is that photograph... I remember being totally appalled when visiting London and seeing countless mindless tourists just swarming those guards. To be honest I wouldn't mind them using some force to remind those people that it's not a joke and that they aren't there for their amusement.

It was a comical moment in the video when the lady put her hand in the horse's mouth despite the warning sign that said, "Horses may kick or bite!" Either the lady is illiterate and unable to understand written language, or she deliberately chooses to live her life with one or more fingers missing.
Given they are tourists, its probably the former.
Koreans have very, very little interaction with animals in general. She probably have never seen a horse in her life hence her naivety. Or could be she didn't read the sign

@@101candlelight6 you’re wrong. They absolutely can and do scream at you and they are even permitted to pull their bayonet on your or punch you if the situation warrants. They are there to guard. Not as an ornament or a showpiece 🙄🙄🙄

The horses have a mind, theyre not as stupid as some of the tourists. They'll bunt, bite and step out when theyve had enough. I kept horses for 40 years. .. they can be as crafty as a cart full of monkeys.😢

I about died laughing at the horse as he casually stepped on that guys foot! I like it that the guard left him nibble on people. Some are really stupid putting their hand up to the horses mouth and watching him bite their hand! No common sense! Yeah it’s gonna hurt!
I have noticed many of the guards on foot have already slowed their march down considerably because of the tourists and yet they still have to tell people to move.

For the most part, I find watching most of these types of videos is about as exciting as watching paint dry. One can only wish for a fast-forward option, but in nearly every one of them, at some point, there is another tourist doing something disrespectful to the guard or dangerous to both the guard and the horse or just plain stupid. I cannot fathom why so many feel the need to touch the horse or worse grab hold of the tack. Then if the horse flinches or snorts they are totally shocked to realize that it is a living breathing animal that outweighs them by about 10 to one. I am seeing a couple of horses that are learning that biting can be fun, and it rewards them with the person getting away from them, which is what the horse prefers. But boy!! People are completely taken by surprise then the sign turns out to be accurate, LOL.
Then they are also completely exasperated and offended when the guard shouts at them to get off the reins. And he is just reiterating what the sign says.
I’m just glad that so far none of these videos have shown an innocent child getting hurt all due to the ignorance of their parents or caregivers having allowed or intentionally put them in a position of jeopardy and potential bodily harm. I’m not so sure that it has not already happened, I just don’t want to see it on a video.
If I saw that a horse was looking like it was going to bite my kid's face NUMEROUS times, I think I would have called the kid away from the horse!

People forget these are mostly serving, trained soldiers, many have done tours in war zones. They’re not mindless, king worshiping robots. I knew a guy once who did this role for a while and he wasn’t some robot, he wasn’t even particularly fond of the royal family he was a completely normal Liverpudlian bloke who just seen it as another army posting.
As for shouting at people, they probably don’t really do it out of anger. Maybe slight frustrating. I’d say they actually think it’s funny to watch people jump.
The Guards at the Tomb of the Unknowns (U.S.) use a similar tone when someone trespasses on rhe Plaza or doesn't stand for the Changing of the Guard ceremony. Ithink it's called parade voice, and it's meant to carry. I wonder if these Guards sre using something of the sort?

@@deborahriley8136 Most likely! I’d say a lot of the time when they shout they’re barely even worried or frustrated, they probably secretly see the funny side. Tourists forget they’re not just drones standing there, and not only trained soldiers, they’re human beings with a sense of humour and doing their job- they probably tell funny stories of shouting at confused tourists around the dinner table when they get home or to their mates in the pub.
Everything is according to their training.
They're not mostly serving soldiers - they're all serving soldiers.

Most have probably never been that close. I'd suggest that the worst ones are the "horse women" who want to demonstrate their familiarity around the animals.
Some countries not have a horses at all. History some are destroy because of the wars. That why people didn't know some of countries have a horses, some not have it. 🙂

You would think they would’ve read the sign that warns about what the Horses are capable of but no l, I guess that’s too difficult for them.
Personally i think its kinda a self caused issue, they made the queens guard into a tourist attraction, while at the same time its also a highly trained military branch. They should have FAR more space and boundaries for the guards, tourists should not be able to be so close IMHO.

What all these people are doing is unacceptable, the guards are forced to shout all the time and it is not a good image. Guides must inform them of what is prohibited and that they must comply with these regulations.
This free-for-all that the tourists have enjoyed for so long will be coming to an end. Sooner rather than later.
