Matthew Abban "Classical roots in metal" THANK YOU! I was saying to somebody else, they're basically one carboxyl group away from being the same damn genre.
@kossmikham Yes,he uses the harmonic minor scale...most metal uses that scale as well, its a very powerfull emotional scale, evoking darkness, evil and doom.
Sorry, though there are some classical songs that do really well when converted into a metal format (Night on a bald mountain springs to mind) I think Toccata and Fugue is one of those that just don't work. There's a contrast in the original, between the harshness of the main line, the harps and so many other varients that just putting in metal guitars and drums looses, and the song suffers for it.
@DrSmokeTrees Wow...you. That said, I'll point out that Switched On Bach made music critics and purists cringe, but for many, it was their first contact with Bach. I see this treatment in that light. The piece was written to celebrate the range and power of a church or cathedral pipe organ -- the polyphonic keyboard of its day. Had Bach ever heard a Moog bass pedal, or a well-played Stratocaster, he may well have wished he could work with these instruments. We'll never know, huh?
Nothing wrong with EMG's, I run the reverse 81/85 combo and it sounds beautiful live and in the studio espicially with neoclassical, it just sounds like he recorded this with WAY to much treble/gain on a cheap recording program
did you not read what I said? Yes, the majority of rap nowadays cannot even be called bad poetry, because that would still be calling it poetry. My point is that one should not judge an entire genre on the basis of there being examples of shitty artists. Rock, rap, country, classical, metal, techno, etc., they all have some artists that really suck, but they all have artists that are good as well
its the same fucking notes. the genius is still there even when shrouded by distortion and ugly sounds. it can be appreciated by those who like to listen to this style of music. it just sounds so much better without all the unnecessary extra textures.
That is an over-generalization, although u do have a point. Most rap nowadays is complete BS, but that is not to say that all rap is bad. The hallmark of good rap is if the lyrics can be equated to poetry, which is becoming increasingly scarce.
@commodore256 because if you transpose metal into classical instrument you realize metal roots come from classical music not the pop and rap crap these days... and of course vice versa
@DrSmokeTrees Ha. am I preaching about Jesus or the new testament here? It doesn't matter what your religious beliefs are and I'm not going to get into an argument about Biblical interpretations. What I was referring to when I said taking a piece of out of a Bach piece is like taking a piece out of the Bible is an actual Bible verse that you would know had you read. which is why I made the comparison to begin with, don't insult me out of ignorance.
@commodore256 rap is not REAL music its not played by human but is made by computer. rock is played by real people with guitars and drums and rap? now u understand what i mean?
i don't understand what you mean. i understand you are a musical bigot because you are prejudiced against the musical genre "hip hop"if you choose to hold this opinion then that is your right. but, to say it's not real because its made with a computer also means that any recording that used protools is not real. which then means any metal track after (circa) 1994 is not real music. any band that uses dsp effects/ amps is not real music. so i guess in the year 2012, there is zero real music.
@guyboy625 Well, it depends on how you look at it, but the reason I compared them is because of a Bible verse talks about how he who takes pieces from the Book will be taken from the book, and he who adds pieces to the Book that weren't there will be also taken from the Book. I am comparing the Bible to the musical realm. Whoever made this piece will never be known as Bach was known, simply because he mis-interpreted Bach's genius, like a jackass.

@@janeadelaidelennox7193 Exactly. There was an article "Science Suggests Metal Fans And Classical Fans Are Identical Personality-Wise." Google it.
bach fué metalero en sus tiempos.

This one was an extraordinary metal compouser! Ten to umiał metal pisać! :)
@kossmikham

Johanne Bach, his music was way above its time..
🎻🎻🎻🎼🎵🎶
This is what Bach was trying to convey
It's a shame for metal and classic music, and as a musician, I like both. Listen ti Epica
@commodore256 if you combine a Classical masterpiece with the power of metal, you will get THE EPICNESS in one song
Frickin sweet!
Bach rules!
Não restam dúvidas!
2:36 Last Rites/Loved to death Megadeth

AWESOME! :]
The better to work by! xo
Me too, I actually like some rap, I was just making a sarcastic comment :)
84 people either hate Bach or hate Metal.
Ludo Jackson I'll be sure to keep a lookout...
+Vanderthing one people hate the fast tempo
Or think metal is satanic

great!!!
@commodore256 because metal and classical are epic. beethoven made music while deaf. that's just badass.
por dios que grossos!!!
omg you rock!!!
greetings from argentina!
Love it
The best
esta perfecto!
@EminencePhront Agreed, the recording quality is fucking shocking.
Nothing wrong with EMG's, I run the reverse 81/85 combo and it sounds beautiful live and in the studio espicially with neoclassical, it just sounds like he recorded this with WAY to much treble/gain on a cheap recording program
fucking badass. shoulda done the whole thing
@weezylone i second that
Bach meets metal!
Well executed, but the tone sounds like it's being played on an old tin box.
who is the palyer?
Well holy flying fuck then!

3:22 - 3:51 Best part.
I stand corrected. That's good to know. :)
Sounds like a sweet set up you have.
Care to indulge me in what guitar you're playing and amp preferences?
its the same fucking notes.
the genius is still there even when shrouded by distortion and ugly sounds.
it can be appreciated by those who like to listen to this style of music.
it just sounds so much better without all the unnecessary extra textures.
I prefer the slice of toccata in the Demonlord - Search solo from 4:04
@LibertyCityMayhem95 Hahaha true that brother
haha owww man id totally buy that bumper sticker!
If you listen I love you to deth by Megadeth you could listen a part of this song
@SqueezeMyLemonBabe It's been shortened at places. Not a good idea.
Reminds me of Kind Diamond

BaRock!
I never liked heavy metal but
that was fucking awesome
what program do you use for the soundtrack? :o
@EminencePhront can you not hear? there is plenty of bass in there
Ouch. Those drums.
sounds good! but god it has a lot of echo in there... just sayin bro.
Can you choose other guitar?
"Good Call"
@commodore256 because if you transpose metal into classical instrument you realize metal roots come from classical music not the pop and rap crap these days... and of course vice versa
this is one of the reasons why i hate active pickup like EMG in attempt to neoclassical approach...
This is played on Bachson or Bachsocaster, not sure...
@commodore256 cause they are REAL music unlike pop and rap :)
Baroque and roll?
@kossmikham ahhhhhhhhhhh
He quoted Shakespeare? Well that just makes him quite the original poet then.
don't think pb is all about disto but eq too.
There are too much highs and mids for me.
Hard Barock :D
where did you get the music xD
@DrSmokeTrees Ha. am I preaching about Jesus or the new testament here?

WHAAAAT!?
@ThatGuyCalledPhillip It is not :)
@DrSmokeTrees It is if you're looking for a book with true stuff in it. But it's valid literature nevertheless. I just don't think it's very good.
una combinación de órgano y requinto sería fantástico, para esta pieza
0:47 LoL
Sorry, I'm working on my own projects, mate. I don't take requests at the moment.
The mixing sound so wrong.
If the miing was better the song would be perfect imo
What is trending amongst you guys of 5 million years from now, in terms of music?
4 20...
alot of measures were omitted.
Because without classical, there would be no metal. Many metal songs are borrowed ideas from classical compositions
Meh thats a rather broad sterotype ive heard sum old school rap/hip tracks recorded with analogue beats thats pretty good.
reminds me of Death
still they play on guitar and drums etc. unlike rap so stop this stupid commenting
smotriu s cem sravnit...:) no sama muzika eto kaiffffffffcccfffffffffffc!!!¡¡!!!!!!!:)))))))))
Too fast.
@kossmikham Don't forget Beethoven: The original Metallica, though Metallica's more like the stuff Beethoven threw away.
Dan Mumm is ok til you hear you Dr Viossy :D
@commodore256 rap is not REAL music its not played by human but is made by computer. rock is played by real people with guitars and drums and rap? now u understand what i mean?
This sounds like MIDI.

Why is this video in 720p? The audio quality is awful.

damn drummers. always thinking they know everything. and quick to offer their opinions.
@guyboy625
indeed.
taking out of a Bach piece is like taking verses out of the Bible.
I prefer the original misic.
Ehhh....I prefer the organ version I think...
@guyboy625 Well, it depends on how you look at it, but the reason I compared them is because of a Bible verse talks about how he who takes pieces from the Book will be taken from the book, and he who adds pieces to the Book that weren't there will be also taken from the Book.
