    oh oblong/oval - shift 100, scale 2, rotate 2, stroke 1.5 px, 1 by 50 columns... and then fill of color makes a cool design!
    I noted that having a fill color to start, messes it up and can't seem to remove it. so I just revert and clear the fill.
    this is fun! I'm interpolated crazy and this is just like it. I wonder can both be used together? will seek to find out!
    I'm off to play with the new things you've shown me.

    that was cool too, but scale setting 4.04 where the 30 shapes all go inside the main shape, that didn't work. wondering what setting I did wrong. have to go over it again. ok figured it out. the (shift) has to be set to -100.. it worked.

    Hello there.
    I know this video is quite old, and you posted a new method with LPE, but I tried to recreate this with Tiled Clones but, even though I used the same parameters as you did, my clones don't scale in X. They do it in Y, but not in X. I tried both in versions 1.3.2 & the latest 1.4. Any idea?

    • @IronEchoDesign
      @IronEchoDesign  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you mean you did Trace Bitmap on the PNG? Select Same is a good method to grab all objects with the same Fill color.

      @@154Colin Hey, Colin, there's a setting when you do the "Trace Bitmap" function. It says, "Remove Background" and if you check it, it removes the white (or other color) background automatically. You end up with the trace and a transparent background.

    Trying to follow along on Mac but negative column shift settings over -50% actually rubberband and start pushing the clones further away as it rotates them. Rotation and scale are all at 0%. -50% column scale works correctly aside from it rotating my clones with rotation at 0. Can't duplicate your results unfortunately, even updated Inkscape hoping that would fix it. Thanks though, wish it worked for me. The closer I get to -100% column shifts, the further apart the clones are placed, as opposed to them coming together.

    • @IronEchoDesign
      @IronEchoDesign  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry it's not working! I've streamlined the process in future videos. The Inkscape 1.2 Test Drive video on my channel explains the technique better and it works in older versions of Inkscape if you're not on 1.2. Let me know if this helps!

      @@IronEchoDesign I uploaded a video to my channel showing what it's doing but with both Column shifts at 0% it places the clones from left to right, touching. At -100% X and Y shifts, it places them from bottom to top, touching. So instead of overlapping them, it rotates the clone placement by 90 degrees, at -100% X and Y shifts. At positive 100% X and Y shifts, it rotates the placement 90 degrees in the opposite direction and has one full clone-width gap between the tiles. It does this in versions 1.1.1 & 1.2 both on Mac... Thanks so much for your time, love everything you do!
