    You need to include Coyoacan and Xochimilco. And of course all the real Mexican Mercados.

    Is it best to pay in pesos or US dollars? Are there any museums that are free to enter?

      Always best to pay in pesos (always local currency when you travel). We dedicate an entire section to this topic under Other Services on our Mexico City Travel Guide: twogayexpats.com/destinations/mexico/gay-mexico-city

    Is Mexico 🇲🇽 safe to visit as a solo traveler?

    • @TwoGayExpats
      @TwoGayExpats  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Absolutely! If you keep aware of your surroundings, don’t have too many tequila shots and stay away from any illegal activities, you will be safer than in the US as a solo traveler in Mexico. We feel very safe in Mexico… more so than in the US where a guy pulled a knife on a guy next to us on the L in Chicago last month! That was our only scare in the past two years! Safe travels!

    Question for you both. You bought a condo in Tulum instead of Puerto Vallarta. You said your dollar goes further in Tulum for housing. Is Tulum accepting of the LGBTQ community like Puerto Vallarta? Thanks again!

      Hola! We bought a single family house with a pool for about half of the condo prices in the Romantic Zone in PV! In addition, at least 5 homes (that we know of) in our Tulum community are LGBTQ owned out of approximately 40 or so currently finished. One of our favorite restaurants here is also gay owned. It’s a very accepting and growing international community here in Tulum. Both are amazing beach towns with lots of natural beauty. PV also has the party scene and theatre scene whereas Tulum has gorgeous Caribbean beaches, Cenotes, Mayan ruins, and the biosphere. It’s all a matter of personal preference really, but we’ve felt 100% welcome in both cities and all of Mexico for that matter!

      @@TwoGayExpats I’ve been told that searching for properties online from home will take you to the higher end. In other word overpaying. Did you use an agent in Tulum or search online? Thanks!

      @thegoldendog7991 we searched online using Point2Homes and then cross referenced to find the developer’s website and/or Instagram where you can find lots of additional details. We did not use an agent as we purchased in Phase 3 of an existing development and could speak with new neighbors and now friends to make the best deal for us and avoid unnecessary fees.
